Also I know those graphs are hard to see but I wanted to show the raw versions, not ones I drew over which (as some have said may hide something). I was just trying to show as much legit info as I could.

Hahahaha. I like your style We may be competitors on some parts, but we are HUGE PERRIN fans here. And companies aside, I have been a PERRIN fan since 2004 with my first STI.

There are a handful of vendors on here that are trying to scoop up every nickel and dime they can get with cheaper, worse versions of already established product. Perrin, KBM, GS, Kartboy, etc., are all well established here in the Subaru (and others!) car community and no one that's been here a while would ever suspect you guys of trying to sell us some land in FL.

And why a bunch of arm-chair engineers are criticizing a well established vendor, I have no idea.

Sounds and looks good.

PERRIN is a FMIC for the 2015+ WRX in the works and something that we will be seeing soon from you?

Just to get my head around something.

There is a dyno graph that has three runs overlayed: stock, stg2, stg2 + header.

For all these runs, I see the words "no tune". Maybe I am just not reading between the lines.

You don't mean to say you are running a stg2 car with no tune on the dyno?! What tune is on there? Is it the Cobb OTS tune? Is it the MAPerformance stage2 tune?

I think reading through the thread. That's exactly what he means.

Stage 2 (parts) with no tune, sorry if that is confusing,
We are just showing the gains of the header compared to the OEM header on a stock tuned car.

You can rent many things if you're willing to pay enough money. I've even heard about ..., well let's not go there.

They fit the SJ Forester XT!
I rolled the dice, as I often have, buying WRX parts for my car.
They Fit barely.

Unlike the WRX we have bolt on supports on both sides of the car to stiffen the front end and they protect turbo inlet and outlet-J-Pipe area and a skid plate that bolts onto them.

My Mechanic and I installed them them fitment was spot on. We used just the spacers that came with the kit and used them to space the support/protectors using the stock bolts.

The skid plate ends up being about 1/2" lower than than stock and still finishes nicely into the bumper. I can post up some pics as soon as I setup a new hosting site for third party linking.

I'm running a catted Invidia J-Pipe 3" catless mid-pipe and the stock cat back.

Now let me tell you my experience with dealing with Perrin. They have answered all my pestering emails and have always responded to any questions I have. I use email mainly.

As far as their parts, especially this header, it is a high quality piece period!!!

My Mechanic is a race mechanic for Porsche Endurance teams. He works on Subarus at his own shop as well working at a race machine shop when he is not at the track or it's off season. He's an EJ Master and came with my first Forester a 99s. This is now my third Forester he has worked on, but the first FA20DIT. Every time, on every car, whenever I bring a new part I've found that is a high quality upgrade he points it out.

He made a fuss about how nice the piece was more than once!

If you are adding a header to your car I can safely assume you already have other modifications and a non-stock tune.

Therefore those of you bitching about claims and this and that already know to get the most out of your upgrades you need a pro-tune, in person or e-tune, for your specific car.

What and where your gains/limits are a combined factor of several things:
Starting with a combination of your modifications and how they work or don't with your car.

(I actually went back to my stock charge pipe as my throttle response was quicker and the turbo spooled up smoother. With the charge pipe it had a hit to it that was impressive but it was like having a turbo lag car not a twinscroll. I have explained this in detail on the Forester forum)

Available and type of fuel you plan on running.
Expectations of Tune (Is it a daily spirited or a track car, rally, hill climbs, etc.)

In my case I've been chasing other gremlins in the car so I haven't taken it to my tuner yet. When the car is running properly, the headers have not made my tune any worse and it does feel like it's got some grunt down low.

Default Got the Perrin header for my 2018 WRX

I got the header for my WRX. However, I have already tuned it (BrenTuning) with the following parts:
Cobb Big SF CAI
1320 J pipe catted
Invidia N400 catback
EGR/TGV delete
Restrictor pill removal
Electronic boost controller 3 port
Boompa BPV

Should I get a new program?

You don't have to. But to get the most out of it, yes, you should. He should be able to give you a new tune relatively easy as this is a standard mod they work with a lot. Give him a call/e-mail and see for sure.

This is the next (and last for a while) mod that I'm waiting to do once I convince the wife. Can't wait!

Yes.

Call/email Bren for confirmation. Anything you do to change air flow or spool characteristics should be accounted for in your tune.

I would for the simple reason that the torque is going to come on much harder and earlier due to the headers. If the rods weren't an issue with these motors then I probably wouldn't be so concerned about it.

I installed mine along with my stage 2 stuff and it definitely adds a deeper note. Very Happy with it and the rest of the mods.
