Yeah you cant just switch the knobs.

That would be like trying to change your transmission from manual to auto by replacing the shift lever with one from an automatic.

Very obviously there's more going on than just different knobs or different shift levers.

Not necessarily. I'm not looking to get the auto climate, I'm looking to just get the turn style knobs. I will be taking apart my dash to find out soon.

My passenger side was doing that for a while, check the connections in the socket, they may be dirty.

Alcohol and a q tip or pipe cleaner. Then put some dialectic grease inside. It'll help keep out moisture and in turn no corrosion.

a slightly noob-ish question: Will the seats from a previous generation wrx (2005, for example) fit in our cars? Found some on ebay as well as some from an 08+ and figured i'd ask

They will fit if you swap the rails. 08+ have a different footprint. You would also have to swap all of your stock sensors/cords/plugs too.

So i just purchased a Cobb Adjustable short shifter and Prosport Halo oil pressure gauge from members on here. both for under two Benjamin . Ill let you know how they feel and work when i get them installed, But the press. gauge will have to come in about 1750 miles since i'm waiting on another oil change before i install it.

I'm so excited i had to tell the world

I know there's an airbag in the seat, you need '08+ seats to keep it.
