The camera is just a tool. You just have to learn to have complete control of your camera, lighting angles, framing. I've seen great pictures taken with cellphone and little to no editing. Just keep taking pictures and you'll eventually get better. No one start off and have a masterpiece.

Please do. Show folks that it's not the high $$$ camera that take good pictures, it's the photog.

I have learned a LOT since this picture was taken, but from time to time, for convenience sake I wish I had my old P&S.

I love getting a brand new camera in the mail, unpacking everything, get it all set up, go to charge the battery, power goes out.

You should look into some type of composite/HDR shot or added lighting. All of your shots are nice landscape/skyline shots ...that have a backlit, underexposed car in the way.

If you want the focus on the car, I would add light, or just choose a background that highlights the car more, rather than draws the attention away from it.

There is enough info in those shots that even just dodge and burn should do the trick. I agree. The car is underexposed for the scene.

i use that lens for video since it has IS :P. I heard if that lens has a sharpness sweet spot around 30-35mm. But lately I've been using Tamron 28-75mm f2.8. Saving up for a Sigma 30mm f1.4. I need to have some bokeh in my life

If anyone is interested in Rig Booms, I'm putting in an order today and will be offering them at cost.

1.9" Aluminum, 5' sections, threaded connections. Same boom as the other guy for half the price.

$115 for 2 sections and a coupler
$170 for 3 sections and 2 couplers
$230 for 4 sections and 3 couplers

shipping not included in the price.
