I have JDM legacy B4 fixed-perch struts bilsteins on my 00 leg GT ltd. Should work nicely once the motor is in the car. Only bilstein coil-overs are officially available for imprezas, although the 96-99 legacy bilsteins will fit wrx wagons pretty nicely.

I've started mine.. just purchased some v8 STI struts for my 06 wagon.

I'm now going to start looking at getting some RCE plates for the front and some pink wagon specific springs.

If I use wagon pinks, still a need for RCE plates in the front to lower it ?

I'd still get the RCE's for more camber adjustment, although I don't track/race.. yet!

Can't wait !

^ depends- if you want an even lowering then go w/ their non-lowering plates, for more lowering front vs rear go w/ the lowering ones

OR
Here's a possible idea to save you some $ and if you want a little more lowering - buy oe sedan STi springs for ~ $50 used- these have identical rates to the WRX pinks, they will lower more in the rear (~ 8mm) than front on a wagon- this is where the RCE lowering plates come in- they also lower ~ 8mm- now you've saved ~ $200 AND you now have close to a 20mm even drop vs a 10mm drop from the WRX pinks

great idea!

I've seen the STI spings everywhere for sale in the ads..

Or I can get wagon specific springs and forget about RCE's in the front (except for camber correction)..

But that 20mm drop sounds interesting.. think thats what I'm going to look at !

For wagon springs I'd go for the new RCE non lowering plates- what is unique about them is they add NO height to the front like most plates do. You'll mess up the even drop w/ "normal" camber plates.

For sedan springs the RCE lowering

yep. I'm making offers as we speak for sti springs ( hey, a good way to save cash for those RCE lowering camber plates!)

Think it's worth grp'n' rears or stock STI rear top hats should be sufficient? I'm speaking of ride comfort here..

I've always run Grp N tops w/ all my setups, I notice no decrease in comfort

Hmm.. I'll keep my eyes open for a set for the rears then =)

Hey, can you confirm if there's any noticable drop from stock STI 04-06 springs compared to my 06 2.5i springs?? Is it 10mm or less? I'd be honestly happy with 1" drop in the rear and 1.5" in the front.. I might just need to get something else ?

Not sure what the ride heights are on the i, but a WRX sedan will see a 10mm drop front/rear w/ oe STi springs-a WRX wagon probably 10/18mm; w/ the RCE lowering plate ~ 18/18 mm

How's your camber with the 04 STI struts? Needed rear camber bolts and camber plates out front ?

I'm just wondering if the camber's so bad that it'll cause premature tire wear ?

Or is it still within oem specs ?

the sedan struts change things very little (if any) in the rear- so no worries there.

in the front the make your camber more positive (roughly a half of a degree)- you can easily get within spec w/o doing anything as spec is only -0.3.

the reason folks make a "fuss" about using sedan struts is not any abnormal tire wear or being out of spec- it's simply a matter of performance.

from a performance standpoint our cars need a fair amount static neg camber to incease grip in turns, run sedan struts and you've wasted a precious 1/2 degree of only -1.3ish available- that's the only concern

^^ What he said^^ I don't know a lot about suspensions, I just know how to take a strut assembly off and put the other on (direct bolt on) and had it aligned at the dealer.

Sounds good enough.. I'm only a daily driver.. not too concerned about maximum camber I can obtain.. once I start to autox.. okay.. then we'll talk!

thanks guys. Can't wait to share the pics of my setup

So I just got done reading all 35 pages of this thread (catching...breath). I have an 04' wgn that I have been looking to do some suspension work on (now that I have the go/stop thing down).

I am running Rota SDRs, which according to Subydude are 17x7.5 et45 (not 48 as posted earlier unless they changed that off-set). I am running 225/45 Falken Zeiks.

It seems from reading that rubbing will not be an issue if I am just changing to larger sways (even 25mm) and better links unless I get into lowering???? And if I get into lowering (like with some Tein Flex) that I will possibly need to roll my fender?

Anyhow, thanks for all the input from people into this thread!

OK, now on my next set-up: Koni-inserts w/ wagon pinks, same S-bars, got some one-off non-adjustable camber/caster plates from a member here, for track- 17x8" rims paired with Hankook Z211 235/40 tires, street- 17x7" rims w/ Kumho MX 225/45, alignment: front: -2.5 camber, 4.6/5.0 caster, 0 toe; rear -1.5 camber, 0 toe. Incredible handling at the track, passed Porsches, BMW's and yes, even a Viper! Think the handling is quite neutral at this point, I should try RSB at highest setting to see if it gives any oversteer, this was the first trackday with new setup so didnt experiment anything, besides, temp were below freezing in the morning at the track (Willow Springs). Not sure what next step will be, probably some bushings and bracing. Also some concern on the uneven caster as it is not adjustable at this point, previously I had Noltec/MRT c/c plates with 5.1 caster. Although, after looking at pictures from the track the car still has some fair amount of body roll, and not much contact patch on inside front tire, it's significantly improved from last time when I had to brace myeslf with my knee. Maybe firmer springs to go with my new Konis?

Well since I'm thinking of putting them on some to-be-built Konis, my mercenary suggestion is: "How about Crucials?" :-)
