Hole in Passenger seat?
Tonight I felt something weird on my passenger seat. Right at the edge of the seat ( almost to the front of the seat) right in the middle there seemed to be a hole beneath the fabric just about the size of a quarter or a little bit more. Nothing was resting on the seat and no one has even sat in my car in about a week or so. I felt around the seat and everything else seemed solid and in place....the drivers seat did not have this same issue. Am I missing something or is there something wrong here? So weird...

Mention it to the dealer next time you are in as this does not appear to be "normal". Don't have that issue with mine (so called leather interior).

I'm actually scheduled to go into the dealer this wednesday to get the drivers side seat back bushings TSB. This car is starting to annoy the crap out of me with this cheap ass interior.

Might just be a NY issue (Lived in N. Syracuse //Liverpool// in the mid 70's and all of the cars that I bought there were crap). Anyway, SUBARU NE is a different animal than the normal SOA that the rest of the country gets (Thanks to Mr. Malkin).
EDIT: Did buy an excellent 1976 Mazda RX-4 for about 70% of retail and it lasted more than 10 years/70k miles in both Europe and the USA - Nice little "go getter" @ 130 mph - even though the Texas State Patrol was not too sympathetic about the speed. |

I wonder why they punched out a hole in the foam...
Mine has this on the passenger side. maybe part of the radical weight reduction! Odd. But normal for the model. |

I had my whole bottom seat replaced for that hole. The dealer had no idea what it was until the seat was ordered and installed regardless. Good thing because I had a pizza grease stain on it. Anyways, it's part of the sensor unit for the air bag, it's more than just a weight sensor in the seat like most cars or older models.
