Of course, I'd probably would have had to sleep on the couch for a week for bringing home a car that my wife couldn't drive. And I'd have put too many miles on it anyway (my 2018 WRX already has close to 18k on it).
No the one for sale in Maryland was sold a day before I was scheduled with the dealer to go down and basically buy it. Not even a phone call to let me know it sold.

The RA and 2019+ also has a different knock sensor and knock detection strategy. Comparing stage 1 2017 vs stage 1 2019 (same as 2018 RA) you do see the newer engine making more power too. There are just a lot of little changes that were made for the RA and 2019 that I think add up to a bit better reliability and power. Take it for what it's worth; my speculation based on observations and no long term data. Conversely, the RA and 2019 STi seem to be running out of fuel sooner. So you can't make as much power once you start down the mod list with stock fueling. Difference aren't huge, but they are there.
Iíve heard the knock sensing strategy is less aggrsssive than the older models, though tuners seem to be able to push them a lot harder mod for mod. I have seen one person complain about theirs exploding on FB though, could be a troll post though, who knows.

Took the RA for its first Autocross Points race of the year. I missed the first 2 sessions because of the rain dates, but currently am sitting 2nd overall in BStreet so far.

Placed 2nd in BStreet. Finished .091 Seconds behind a new M3 on RE71Rs
Overall the car felt great. Picking up some Enkei 18x8.5 wheels today with Pilot Super Sports for dedicated use. Plan to get RE71R or Falken 615k+

Check out the new Yoko A052's, a couple folks have been winning regional SCCA events with those. They apparently take heat a little better than RE71R's.

Tire Rack doesn't show them with 255 width tires tho. If I were to do any other tire I think it would be the Falkens as they are cheaper and maybe 95% of the RE71R.

Ya tire size is limited right now. It will probably expand if it sells well enough.
