No, it's the new FA20. Completely different engine.

The looks don't bother me. All the reviews I've read/seen have been superficial. My 08 STI understeered like a snow plow stock and with the max neg camber I could get with stock bolts, a larger RSB, and DCCD set manual all the way to the rear it was better, but still understeered. The reviews say the suspension is stiffer, but I haven't heard anyone mention the handling balance. That's what I'm concerned about. Also, I wouldn't buy the WRX unless I couldn't afford the STI, because I autocross and track, but I won't buy the STI with the same old EJ257. Give me a 300hp FA20 in the STI and I'd buy it tomorrow, but no way with the EJ257. You're going to have to do better Subaru.

The rumble is gone....
I like the twin scroll turbo but how does everyone feel about loosing the Subaru exhaust sound. I don't mind because the added power potential.
Subaru needs to look at the new Benz 2.0l 355hp engine. They need to achieve this with the STI. We should expect at least 300hp from the WRX. Agree? They should bring the Levorg (what a stupid name) over as a legacy spec b and sooner than later. Ill be holding onto my hatch |

Look for bigger fender flares for its mid model refresh (much like 2011) and yes the silver car looks way better thank you for posting.

Road and Track got 0-60 4.8 and 1/4 mile 13.6, said it handled well, had nicest interior of any WRX or STI of past, and feels like the GD STi. All of that sounds good to me. I'm waiting to see if the STI is a carry over engine, if it is, I'll consider the WRX.

I've been saying it all along...as soon as you see one on the road with some nice wheels and perhaps some mudflaps or lowered etc. everyone will start to change their mind.
It's not as ugly as the previous model came out in 2008 by a long shot, it took subaru until 2011 to make the previous design look actually objectively cool. With this new one we are starting way better off than previous years. By 2016 I bet it will be looking great. I just hope that Subaru comes to their senses and brings the hatch version. |

First rule of buying a new car; never buy the first year of a new model!
