Sorry but I have not had much time to work on the part this past week. I'll try to get something cut this week.

I'm also interested if a metal version gets made, mine is still fine but it seems like it's just a matter of time.

I have the first version drawn up and hope to have it cut sometime this week. I'll post up the drawing once I get back to shop.

Working on it, life got in the way. Have the test parts cut just haven't the time to go further... yet. Keep in mind that sometimes you have to build parts (jigs/fixtures) to make parts (end product).

Sometimes using a 3D printed part isn't ideal because of the way it is made, it is brittle. CNC out of aluminum would be a definite upgrade. If you guys ever need someone to draw up something on SolidWorks, let me know. I do this all day at work, and can export it to an IGES, STEP, Parasolid file, etc. I can get certain parts made as well. I did all the RnD involved to make replacement brackets for the GD chassis in order to retrofit newer roof racks. I have a couple of threads on NASIOC for them. I love this kind of stuff.

So. Does anyone have a working file that can be used to machine one? If so PM me, I am just too busy to pull mine and measure up to try and get one made.
Thanks, and necro bump |
