Default Anybody found easy fix for squishy XT brakes?

Just breaking in the XT, but see immediate need to firm up the brake pedal. Given how well most other things on the car are set up, I'm surprised at the poor brake feel. Has anybody diagnosed it?

I'm not tracking the car, very unlikely to autox it, simply want a better feel and quicker braking response. My first thought it to get ss lines, better pads and fluid...has anybody done this and "fixed" their brakes?

TIA

I haven't driven the XT. What exactly are the symptoms? Excessive pedal travel, mushy pedal or just plain over-boosted brakes like on the WRX?

Excessive pedal travel and mushy feel. I'm used to my Audi A4, which doesn't have big enough brakes for its weight, but the bite and feel are great. I'm new to Subaru...I've never driven a WRX, so I can't compare.

SS lines and pads are usually the best way to start w/ those symptoms.

Default try bleeding brakes

I'd recommend first bleeding the brakes and see if it's just some air in the lines. Although C&D's test commented on less-than-perfect pedal feel, I didn't think it was bad at all during drive test. I'd rank it as being medium firm, not overly sensitive and certainly not mushy.

Bleed brake first, then move onto SS lines, and if still not happy, look at different pads.
