Power Steering Lines always in the way
They Are always in the way..
I tried bending them with a pipe bender.. that didn't work out very well anyone know a good way to bend these without teaking them.. what kind of place would do pipet work like that?? I was thinking of making my own that go off to the side.. but the fittings on the power steering are odd balls (the ones at the bottem) any ideas? [grammer check]

you can bend them a little bit simply by unbolting it from the mounts, and bending it across a long distance.
if you try to bend it across a short lenght, it is more likely to kink or snap. We do it all the time in our shop. -Jake |

I took the mounting brackets off the intake manifold. You can get a little more room that way.

I personally would go with SS lines, it looks really clean and will solve your problem.

Kit
They came with the JC Sports kit back in the day. I'm sure they can be easily replicated.

Thanks for the PIC!
Jc sports... pretty much defunc now damn.. i could do that myself with some earls lines i just don't know where to get the fittings for the bottom of the lines... maybe I could just cut them from stock and use hose clamps... but I don't know how much pressure that steering pump puts out. if its too much for a hose clamp i could be in for some trouble... |

Top
The top line for one of them uses a hose clamp. Though that is probably on the return line that's not pressurized to the same degree. I thought Vishnu did these lines for their kits as well? Try contacting them possibly Or post up on the board for advice I know it's been discussed before.

Here is a close up of the lines at the pump. I found this in my existing photos I don't have one of it at the rack.

If anyone wants a set of these, I'm pretty sure I have them. They came with my used JC sports kit and they've never been used. I thought it might have been broken because one of the lines only has a slip on anodized connector, but from Josh's pics it looks like you just put a hose clamp on it. I'll take some pics in a bit.

Look in the yellow pages for a local company that does hydraulics and associated plumbing and fittings - i had a company (dont remember the name) in the Albany NY area do me up a set up braided SS brake lines for my jeep before them were mainstream.

<bump>
yebokmj can you take pics of the other side of the hoses.. thats the part thats being a bitch... 1st attempt FAILURE at replicating... the diameter if the pipe where is meets at the bottom (near x-member) is smaller on the positive pressure side... this means my hose clamps don't quite fit.. and tend to explode off while turning the wheel... |

Sorry
I don't have a digital camera and I wouldn't be able to get that good of pic anyways due to where they are located. Try lotusTT, he said he had some that he could snap pictures of.

Sorry guys, I forgot about this. I put some pics up at http://www.rit.edu/~krb5648/lines
One line has a larger screw on connecter and that red wierd slip on connecter on the other side. The other has what looks the same size screw on connecter as the other line and a smaller connecter on the other end. That's about all the info I have on them. They're still for sale, make me an offer if you want them. |

The only line you can use a hose clamp on is the return. The pressure line holds way too much psi for a clamp tp hold reliably at all.
Tats. |
