I recently purchased some super pro sway bars from Cygnus Performance. I was torn between the RCE and Whiteline for a while and then Geoff from Cygnus had mentioned the Super Pro and they seemed like a great product for the price with a solid design etc.

My question is does anyone have any experience with these bars. If so how do they compare to Whiteline, RCE, Eibach, etc.? I've tried to research them a bit, but I'm limited to my phone so please excuse my ignorance if there is a post out there.

EDIT: Going to be using these on a 2011 WRX.

Oh what a great feeling. I'm pairing them with Kartboy end links and the Whiteline heavy duty rear sway bar mounts. Will have them installed hopefully within the next week just need to find the time.

All the solid bars are pretty much the same. Fitment is what counts and of course size based on your application.

Ive looked at this as well after seeing this thread on iwsti
http://www.iwsti.com/forums/gr-suspe...sway-bars.html

Looks like a pretty good alternative to the typical RCE, Whiteline... bars out there.

You don't choose critical pieces, because they are different., or because you want to be different. Its long term reliability and experience that will determine overall performance... Something WL and RCE both have. Something like collars or different revisions to make up for production variances, etc all make a difference in a quality brand

I just thought I'd chime in here and explain why we started importing and recommending these sway bars. Their quality is night and day better than anything else I've seen and I've seen pretty much every sway bar on the market over the years. They offer several features which are unmatched by other brands.

The first is their coating. They are zinc dipped, then powder coated with a white epoxy powder coat, then coated with a blue flexible color powder coat. This process add a full mm to the thickness of the bars which makes the D bushings actually a size larger than the bar's advertised price. The competition's bars generally have a single layer powder coat which doesn't even come close to offering the protection of Super Pro's process.

The second is the fact that they are Australian made. The people who designed these bars actually build them too which makes quality control extremely tight. Super Pro bars are made of 100% Australian spring steel. Each individual bar is also checked on a jig prior to leaving the factory. It must be within only a couple mm of spec or it is scrapped. I can promise you that most of these other guys aren't doing that which is why their fitment isn't as consistent as Super Pro's.

Super Pro's anti-walk clamps are far superior to anything else on the market today. They are CNC'd and then fixed to the bar prior to coating. This makes for a smoother, more flush and even surface than typical welded anti-walk rings. They also don't fall off and slide all over the place like pointless urethane clamps.

Super Pro's D bushings are also Australian made and extremely high quality. Super Pro has been making urethane bushings for a long time and they make the longest lasting, best bushings we've ever come across. You even get higher quality grease with them.

Anyway, we are not importing these or selling them to be "different." We are doing it because after 8 years in this business dealing with every sway bar you can name we firmly believe they are better. If you do the research on all other options and reference the differences I listed above I think you will agree. Choosing the best part is not about how well known the brand is or who is selling it. It is about how the part is actually designed and manufactured and what the end result of that is. If the most well known, most widely distributed stuff were always the best then the healthiest, highest quality food would come from McDonalds. I put my money where my mouth is when it comes to these. I just recently picked up a new STi and I wouldn't put any other brand of bars on it.

I really like the "better bar" reasoning here. Australian made vs. inside the N/S Korean DMZ. Now I've heard everything. I'm not suggesting these bars are bad but I'm having trouble buying this one. My Whitelines fit like a glove and have seen a winter with no finish issues. With all the negative press they have had years back perhaps the finishes are better than your average Kim Jong Un bars

the real world enjoying my sunday. What in the **** are you trying to prove by spedning you day clicking on every post ive made? I post what i feel like posting. If i had a good experience with a product or vendor i will share it. I suggest you start worrying about your own life if you have one rather than wasting time trying to learn about random guys on internet.

I thought about it and it seems that you posted a stupid useless reply to this thread since you have zero experience with the bars in question so now youre trying to change the subject... Back on topic. If you have a problem with me after your investigation of me pm me if you really need to get to know me better.

Edited in the hopes of getting this thread back on track. Country of origin is a controversial topic. I don't want it to take away from this thread.

Sorry but you can't expect to not be challenged when you assert that one of the advantages of brand A vs B on a simple sway bar is country of origin on a AU design spec. And it is relevant to convey brand B quality experience given you brought it up. I didn't say anything about Super Pro.

edit: I decided that I don't really want to go back and forth here. We can agree to disagree. Have a good evening sir.

+1 for Super Pro Sway Bars.
Great quality bars that are bent as they are meant to be.

Too many White Line sway bars are bent out of phase in recent years. The quality of their products has fallen greatly and they are riding on their name.

I have a pair of 22mm on my WRX - I enjoy them. They have held up nicely this winter. I won't say they are better than X or Y, as I have no direct experience. Fit and finish is top notch - I don't regret the purchase.

I'm using Super Pro swaybars front and rear with No Problems. They are looking as good as new.I did use Whiteline swaybars and they tend to rust and look very ugly quicky!

Exactly my experience and the experience of countless customers of ours. Whenever people ask me about this I tell them that Super Pro is one of the few brands that doesn't rust. You really do get a superior product with Super Pro for many reasons, but just talking finish they zinc dip them (just like a saltwater boat trailer, so this alone would prevent rust completely) then they epoxy coat them, then they put a third flexible color coat on them. This process adds a full mm to the bar, so a 22mm Super Pro bar is actually 23mm and includes 23mm bushings. With almost all other brands you get a single powder coat over bare steel that will rust and look terrible even if you live in Arizona.

Thanks,
Geoff
