Ah yes, another tube-chassis, with a bespoke sequential gearbox, feeding an asymmetrical AWD system with a heavily modified Subaru body wrapped around it... much Subaru, so love.

I mean, you can throw this vinyl all over an Outback Wilderness and drop it on some coilovers with some big ol rally looking wheels and achieve similar clickbait cool factor. Pretty sure a built engine and the gearbox will bolt right in.

Nooooooooope. This car is about 2 feet shorter and 1.5 feet thinner and 10" lower. And those lines. STRAIGHT. No curves except where they are needed like wheel arches. You wont get the same look out of the current car.

If he opens that hood, there damn well better be a spare tire there.

He also noted the boxy design enables him to see where the corners are, so his proximity will be better and he'll be able to be more precise.

DANG do I miss the boxy cars from the 80s where you could easily know exactly where the end of your hood was, etc..

it's not just boxy cars, it's just cars from the days before high belt lines & low roof lines; crash safety has has made cars safer in the event of a crash, but has increased blind spots/reduction of body sight points significantly.

my 06 WRX had a lot of glass, I knew it's dimensions, it's a fairly curvaceous car, at least as wagons go; the hood scoop & hood drop off combination, and a long front overhang were a hinderance for sure, but it's much better than newer stuff with less glass; have you been in a new Camaro? Boxy by todays standards, but blind spots galore.

Camaro has horrendous blind spots by any measure...even modern day.

Yeah, same with my '05 Legacy GT Wagon vs. my '19 Stinger. But, in the Stinger's favor - backup camera / tilting side mirrors help. And the 360 cameras are cool, although I didn't pay the extra $5K for those + a few other things.

Seriously, mad mad money on the weekends ($200/$300 per night wasn't absurd, gas was around $.90/gallon) and there was no other places delivering, Dominoes wasn't in the area, Pizza Hut didn't deliver. We were the only delivery game in town, and being non-chain, had really, really good, fresh pizza. On Fri/Sat nights, we used to have about 10 drivers. We'd pull behind the building like a drive through, and a runner would bring a bag out with a couple deliveries, never had to get out of the car. So, when guys that didn't want to deliver in the snow worked inside (or didn't work at all), and... it was a really, really great gig. Now? You don't make that money. It's oversaturated...

Loved helping my dad. Hated the "grunt" work(kid thing, right?). Missing those days and my dad now.

Like, if subaru wanted to do a commercial of a long time subaru family, there are lots of us out there with stories like that from the early cars.
