At least no one has said it looks like a Mazda... yet, anyway.

Remember the pixelated stuff? They wanted to show what they wanted to show. It's all just a giant striptease.

Hopefully it will have some high-end options like navigation, bluetooth, ipod/mp3 player connectivity, etc...

An automated-manual DSG style transmission option would be great too.

If so, this WILL be what I trade my Legacy GT in for.

I been waiting for a long time for Subaru to release something worthy of me looking to trade my Legacy in for.

...that the outside mirrors have turn signals, like those found on other premium Subies?

If you recall, the images of the heavily-camoed STI at the 'Ring hinted at this too.

Is it me or does the interior material of the driver's seat look like its leather?

I was thinking this right off the bat. Don't forget the pixelation, too!

Wow, it's amazing how pictures so simple can strike up all these rumors. It's like perezhilt'en.com for the subaru. Anywho. I'm pretty sure any crazy subie freak would have waited for hours parked in front of this car to find out more and take pictures of every single inch of the car that they have enough room on their memory card for. The idea that this is a viral piece sounds good to me.

^ Most useless comment in the entire thread. It's a mule, genius

I'm reserving my judgment when the actual STI is shown but the WRC proto looks awesome.

A Subaru salesman told me the upcoming STI will get Legacy Spec.B seat covering: leather side bolsters with alcantara inserts. He didn't know if this would be standard or require an upgrade to premium package or limited or whatever.

As a side note, he said Japan has a real Forster STI (not the 224-hp Sports XT we get); and Subaru might bring this to America, perhaps as a 2009 model.

Just wondering if that little silver spot behind the SI-drive Button looks like seat heater Switches to anyone else?

Could be. Or it could be just a "SI-DRIVE" plaque, similar to what's seen on the Legacy:
