Default Engine Start Button Mod Aka. BRB

Just wondering, has anyone tried the Honda S2000 BRB - Big Red Button Engine Start Mod on their WRX???

Does anyone know how to wire it?

I just removed mine from the Miata and want in my WRX - give it the true race car feel.

thanks

Jeremy

I'm going to do this mod for a fellow SCIC member.

Every install I've seen has done it the wrong way. People are not taking into account that the accessory power needs to be cut when starting so the ancilliary accessories aren't leaching power when cranking. Also, you need to grab the ignitor wire and turn off the starter butting when the engine is running so you can't accidently push the button and start the car again.

If I'm not too lazy on Sat., I'll post instructions for the ricey mod.

Matt

I guess Subaru has it all wrong then. Next time you start your car, start rolling the windows down, then crank and start the car. The window never stops moving, it continues to roll down while cranking. Subaru's ignition doesn't drop accy. power when cranking.

The power windows are hooked into the Ignition power, not Accessory. You bonehead.

Bust out a power meter and check the Accessory lead when cranking. You will see you are TOTALLY wrong.

Oops... think, then type. You are correct... yellow wire at the ignition switch connector terminal 2 is not fed during start. Schematic shows it feeding all the wiper/washers, clock & radio, inside and outside mirrors, and all 12V accy outlets.
