Default 2015 sti AE5R100V Boost fuel cut delay

Hey guys, I'm working on tuning my brothers 15 sti. Having issues with getting boost protection fuel cut to work on his car. It wont hit fuel cut if it overboosts, I have boost limit fuel cut set relatively low at only 11psi but the car goes right past it and keeps pulling. Eventually it will throw a code for wastegate range performane. It did hit fuel cut once but there was a very long delay from the time the car started to overboost and boost was set relatively safe to about 15 psi. Does anyone know if this is common on these 15s? Originally I found this issue when one time the line came off the wastegate and the car overboosted but never hit fuel cut. Now my brother is really sketched out doing pulls because say something fails like the diaphragm on the wastegate and starts overboosting there is no protection. The car is a stage 2 basic boltons with a tial ewg, the car also has a secondary air delete. I only see one table for setting up boost limit fuel cut and there are no other tables with counters or delay values, help please lol.

Did you keep the baro pressure sensor in one of the air-pump valves?

Yes, kept it. Perhaps it got damaged during the modification process but wouldn't it trigger a fault?
