For the oil pressure gauge, what source do you plan on tapping for that sensor? I recommend this -
http://www.wrxtra.com/catalog/produc...338cbfa3e3b94a

Other than that, have fun and don't blow up your motor!

dont blow up your motor.

the turbo needs at least 1000 miles to be fully broken in too, btw. or youll be screaming at it "why oh why did you die?"

I have already purchased a kit to attach the sensor and just need to figure out how to loosen the belt tensioner to remove the alternator.

Thanks I'm sure it will be tons of power but hopefully not enough to blow the engine

spark plugs were a pain in the ass to change:

I had to modify the crankcase breather hoses to delete the hard line that was crimping the bypass hose between the throttle body. Thanks Perrin

Who told you this? Don't spread bad information.

Just prime the turbo with oil before starting the car up. Put out the fuel pump fuse or disconnect the crank sensor behind the alternator, crank the car over, plug it back in and you're good to go.

I would say get a tune so you don't blow your engine up.

Look up how to replace the P/S and A/C belts that will tell you how to remove the alternator.

Lastly, the angle of the inlet looks off but it might be just the picture.

Damn, Unabomber. That's a pretty crappy thing to say about so many vendors who pay to advertise on this site.

So do the turbo last. I realize I'm a bit late to this party but FWIW, I did things in roughly this order:

* Pump and injectors, then adjust the tune
* intake, then adjust the tune
* FMIC, tune didn't need any adjusting
* up-pipe, down-pipe, mid-pipe, and real tuning this time
* turbo, and more real tuning
* new intake, adjust tune
* new injectors, adjust tune

Tuning costs very little if you DIY. (It just takes a lot of time.) If I had to pay for tuning I'd probably do things a bit differently (up/dp at same time as turbo) but doing a couple things at a time makes it easier to troubleshoot the inevitable problems that come up when you're doing your own work and new to the platform. And for stuff like injectors and intakes, you don't need a whole tune, so a tuner who knows what he's doing can get them done pretty quickly (esp. if he's tune the same parts before) so it shouldn't cost near what a full tune costs.

I dont see the problem in doing it all at once. Just take your time pressure test the thing and drive it like a grandma with whatever basemap your tuner gives you to get you from your house to the shop.

Stupid imo to pay for a tune for an intake, then pay for a tune for bigger injectors, then pay for a tune for fmic, then pay for a tune for the turbo. Do it all at once and be patient you should be fine.

But absolutely have money aside for a new block if **** happens.

Best way to prime the turbo with oil:
Remove your fuse panel / coin box below the steering wheel. Pull out the fuse that is denoted IGN / Air Bag (something like that). This will defeat the fuel pump and is the easiest method out there. From memory it is middle row, 2nd in from the right, but double check the guide on the coin box first.

There was no way the turbo was going in with that perrin intake pipe in the way so I had to take the manifold off. I figured I would do TGV deletes while I'm at it.

I had the same problem with my inlet. I had to pull the tgv and install the intake then reinstall the tgv. it was a very tight fit but I got it. you might need to get a coupler with a little bit of a "S" shape to move it over. but A rotated kit would be best.

Everything installed.. primed turbo and started it up.. time for tuning. One issue is that the coupler hits the electronic throttle body plug and I had to grind it but it still hits.

What'd you do to make the turbo fit? (pics take too long to load on mobile.)

Grind down the outside of the tgv?
