I really hate the focus on speed enforcement as the sole means to increase safety. If safety really is the goal (yea right!), it seems to me it would be better to focus on the more dangerous violations; red-light running, stopping within cross walks, darting in an out of traffic, weaving (phones, eating, masturbating), out brake lights, tail gating, etc. Speeding should be a way to push the fines higher, not the main infraction.

Whoa dude, whoa.

You can't dog on faping and driving until you've tried it.

What I think Ken is trying to say here is "Don't jock it 'til you rock it."

Oh, I'm not knocking it; it's the clean up process that can be less than safe.

Yeah guys...

Them photo radar cameras really impede on my right to break the speed limit... Way to stick it to the man

Speeding is like a gateway drug... it leads to all the things you listed. You cut the head off the snake and you kill the snake. And its just impossible to have traffic cops out there 24/7 patroling (like the cameras do). This **** is a problem that won't ever be fixed.

With all that ish said. I fully support monkey maskes.

AZ is lucky...next door in NM, the ticket goes to the owner of the vehicle, UNLESS said owner can PROVE that someone else was driving the car.

Photo enforcement for speed is not about safety, they are for toll collection.

Do you have any documentation of speeding leading to a burnt out brake light? All those things can be done, and be dangerous, at any speed... however I do prefer a faster pace for the masturbating.

Cameras don't patrol; they are stationary. Point was: speeding, in and of itself, isn't necessarily dangerous. Red light cameras have often not shown a reduction in accidents: http://www.motorists.org/blog/red-li...that-prove-it/ You can find studies in both the US and UK that demonstrate speed camera's can also increase accidents rates.

I do get extraordinarily pissed at people speed through school zones, however. And ironically, IME they are usually mom's in SUVs.

oh my god, some dumb WAPCE at arrowhood mall parking lot outside of Dick's was driving a gigantic lifted POS the wrong way down a directional parking lane then turned around and drove down another one the wrong way, forcing all the other cars in the lane to back out. some people shouldnt drive.

Your point is valid... in the proper hands. I'm positive that the majority of people on the road are ill educated in driving. In the wrong hands, which I believe is the majority of peeps on the road, speeding does (or has the statistical potential to) lead to all the aforementioned things... minus a burnt out brake light .

i worked there for a year...it happened almost every day and people dont care. They wouldnt even move out of the way when you are going down the lane the right way, they play chicken with you....even when there are no cars in the spots

the average human reaction time is one second. if youre going faster, more happens during that one second and youre less likely to be able to react in time. it doesnt matter if your individual reaction time is faster, more things can happen within that time at higher speeds.

that being said, i personally feel that its far more dangerous to be the guy going slower than everyone else than the guy going faster.

i was not in a position to play chicken as i was not in the same lane, but i would have driven right up to her bumper and forced her out of the lane if i could have. i think the car youre allowed to drive should be dictated by the car you take your drivers test with. i bet she used a corolla for her drivers test then got that giant POS and doesnt know how to handle it.

I believe it is that way in Ireland. You are licensed for either a car, truck, van, motorcycle, bus, etc.

You beat me to the posting...I love that he is driving a Subaru and its not even a WRX. Guy has a lead foot. Is he on the forum?
Anyone want to help fight photo radar, join camerafraud.com and/or http://meetup.camerafraud.com/
Today is the weekly meeting and TC Luigis in Tempe. Come and learn what you can do to fight photo radar. Pick up some ballot initiatives and get them signed so come Nov 2010 Photo Radar can be voted on.
