guess my bait worked

But seriously, diet soda anything tastes horrible. Id prefer not drink anything over diet soda.
Plus, diet coke + rum just doesnt work.

AND NEITHER DOES PEPSI+RUM!!!

Lots of friends drink the flavored sparkling water. I hate it. My girlfriend loves La Croix lime. Whatever.

I allow myself one sugary carbonated beverage a week. Usually Dr. Pepper, or Barq's Root Beer. Never diet. Diet drinks taste like sweaty ass.

When I used to drink soda as a mixer, I always went for the caffeine-free coke at home. Loaded with sugar (ok.. HFCS) but a better night's sleep.

They'd probably have better luck partnering with Bacardi and say how well rum and diet coke are together. Bring back the "Bacardi and Cola" ads.
Relevant anecdotes:

My septuagenarian college instructor drinks RedBull (despite being surrounded by delicious coffee here in the PNW) and the biggest buyer of Scions (Toyota's youth-targeted brand) were Boomers.

I dumped all my Pepsi stock years ago.. looks like I could have ridden that wave a bit longer. Soda companies are making money hand over fist even with fewer people drinking it.. mostly because they're selling people bottled tap water. Apparently people will buy anything if it comes in a nice wrapper.

The concoction of sugar alcohols and artificial sweeteners that Monster uses in their zero calorie energy drinks is truly an amazing thing. They entirely got rid of the aftertaste that aspartame always had.

Coke Zero and R&R was my go to for a long time.

I cut 95% of carbonated beverages our of my life, more because of how much money I was wasting instead of any real health concerns.

Enthralling story ahead:

I once drank a Full Throttle Blue Agave at the start of a LAN party. 4 hours later my LAN party BO smelled like the color blue.

I always laugh my ass off when I see bottles of Dasani water selling for more than bottles of Coke.

I mean, the soda co.s are geniuses - they're selling their raw materials for more than their finished product.

I was also highly amused by some of the natural markets out west selling "raw" water. Marketed as untreated and unfiltered, and about $8 a gallon. Enjoy your parasites!

(It was tap water) Because, of course it was.

most expensive bottled water is a really expensive bottle containing water.

Reminds me of something I saw on TV, the most expensive burger, which I believe had truffles, caviar, other expensive food ****, and gold leafs. Because gold should be part of everyone's diet.

CN: started looking at burgers online and now I want one

I made a thread once about eating a $26 burger in Las Vegas. It seems laughably reasonable now 15 years later.
