SOHC heads don't flow nearly the same as DOHC heads, even with modified cams and head work. low-to-mid 400's CHP is still about right for 18psi of boost, but power application depends on the type of induction. SOHC power limit is around 500CHP with every mod and proper head work.

What year and vehicle are you thinking of putting it on? Transmission? It is basically all bolt on however there is some tinkering to be done, it is really not hard and I have pretty much documented the entire process beyond the manufacturers instructions.

Is it worth it, depends on your goals.

On 93 I think you can expect around 200whp and lb ft with 8 psi. Do you have access to e85? If you do water meth injection or e85 you can be at 300+ whp with 12 psi. The Raptor spins out around there (50k impeller rpm) so that is about all it can do. I have seen 315 g/s so figure 315whp possible maybe more with e85.

If you are looking for the most simple setup just slap it on there with the 6 psi pulley and no intercooler and be around 175whp. Upgrade later if you want. My kit includes 3 pulleys also. (6ish , 8 ish and 12ish psi). I do think 8psi pulley is the sweet spot on 93 octane and is very mild on your motor if you don’t want to mess with e85 or water meth.

I have a bunch of notes I’d be happy to share plus a huge thread on subaruoutback.org.
I'd be really interested in your notes. I have a 2012 outback I'd like to supercharge it.. and have some fun.

Is it a manual transmission? Do you have access to e85?

I don’t know if there is a kit for the 2012, you might check with Raptor.
