Radiator leak
Hi,
My mechanic told me to replace my radiator caps because they had the incorrect ones on there. I replace them with oems 137kPa part no. 45137FE002 on the radiator and 108kPa part no. 45137AE003 on the top filler. Now my radiator is spewing out coolant. Is it possible that the incorrect pressure (the old ones held less pressure) would hide the leaks and that putting on the correct ones would expose the leaks due to having higher pressure?

Round cap on the Radiator, Eared cap on the surge tank.
If its an Original 17 year old radiator, its time to replace it and the hoses. I went through months of break and replace rubber things, till i just went in and replaced all the rubber items. Its all old brittle and hard, when asked of more pressure, it just finds the next weakest link. |

all the little coolant likes get forgotten until they leak and leave you stranded. also the radiators are known to leak around where the plastic ends meet the metal.

Mine has a horizontal crack right on the top plastic. I can see the coolant shooting out coolant from there. Not sure if this is the only spot that’s leaking though. There is coolant where those plastic ends meet on both the top and the bottom of the rad too |
