Is Cobb AccessPORT Stage 1 worth it??
Hey Guys,
I can get my hands on an 04' WRX AccessPORT and have it shipped to my house by the end of this week. However, I can't really afford it I would be charging it to my credit card and I already have significant credit card debt. Is stage 1 WORTH the $600 extra on my credit card or not? I would like to hear testimony from other stage 1 AP users.. My other question is about stage 2. Is the minimum needed to go stage 2 a downpipe? If that is all that is needed does it put more strain on the engine if you just have the downpipe as opposed to the full turboback when running stage 2 on the AP? What is the difference in hp and torque between running stage 2 on just a downpipe as opposed to a full turboback. Thanks for your help guys, Turbomaniac.

Yes, it is worth it! It will run a MY02 closed loop fuel map that will correct the MY04 open to closed loop fuel map issue that causes hesitation in the 3-4K RPM range. Your car will have more power and run smoother. If you get turbo back exhaust and go to stage II, you will lower your EGT (exhaust temp. by 100 degrees--this is GREAT! All 04s run hot up top of the RPM range. A wise investment.

No, AP is definitely not worth it if you already have "significant credit card debt".
I paid cash for mine. It was definitely worth it |

Just got my stage 1 and I can say that it was well worth it. Much smoother throughout the entire rev range and feels a bit stronger all around. Moving quickly to stage 2! If you can afford it, get it. If it puts you in bigger debt then save you beer cans until you get you r head above water. Good Luck!

Seriously, don't get into more CC debt just to make your car a little faster.
Worry about paying off them first. Last edited by epoth; 08-05-2004 at 08:28 AM. |

If you aren't cash positive - skip the upgrades.
If you have to ask is it worth 600 you don't have it is not. I however love my Stage I - but I get ping/det using the 93 map in 90+ degree weather. I had to back down to 91 until fall. |
