Finally got an 07 wrx bought on auction started only to hear the death rattle. Engine has been torn down to find 2 spun bearings (1 and 4) a score down one cylinder wall, and a busted piston land on the #4. Good times. I planned for the worst when I purchased the vehicle so now onto the rebuild. Block will be bored to 100mm, crank turned, appropriate bearings, and getting a set of 19cc pistons supposedly putting my CR at 9:1. Came with 1000cc injectors, and a tomei arms m8265 turbo (identical to the mx8265) so I will most likely go the E85 route. I would like to rotate the turbo for ease of assembly, conducting work on the vehicle, clean up the engine bay, but I cannot for the love of all that is subaru locate a stock turbo rotation up pipe down pipe without an external BOV. Any clue as to where to find one, please let me know. Also, anyone running anything similar?

1st. do you have a Tuner that will be doing your Tune ?
Talk with them and see what they like to work with as will as have a good knowledge of tuning that set up.

Most Tuners can get you the parts you'll need, build a relationship with that Tuner.

You're gonna be running an external BOV or BPV anyway unless you're using a BW EFR setup.

car came with a tomei arms m8265, uses oem footprint and IBV, just exploring options, not a huge fan of the turbo intake under the manifold. Figured while I had it in pieces I would explore options. As for tuners, I have a few in the area. Although it seems to be difficult to find one that works with the COBB AP software. Although after doing some math with a 1.5mm headgasket I can get compression back down to acceptable levels for pump gas, 8.5:1.

Having been around these turbo cars for 16 years, that is one of the two Tuners most of us on the Legacy GT forum recommend. I highly recommend you contact him. He works with Cobb AP.

I just found a broken piston, loose rod and a seized rod, happens fast when ur foots in it

Consider how to keep cylinder walls thick as possible on the next high powered engine. Thin cylinder walls is already a weakness in the ej25 and when bored to 100mm it gets worse. A thought.

I have considered this, also considering going back to the stock turbo and injectors and keeping it mild. Save those bits for something else, have a 95 coupe that may see a built 2.2 or some such.
