Default It's crazy to think about that one day the Earth will be gone, totally.

Global warming, wars...

None of them matter. In about 4billion years our star will expand and swell to envelope most of the inner solar system, including earth. Everything we've created, all the sights we saw, EVERYTHING we loved, gone, just like that.

Sure, we wont be here to have to worry about it, but just sort of grim that the earth is going to die at some point. At least if it were there forever, maybe aliens could find our ancient civilization... but thats not the case. Weird how everything will be gone.

hopefully in a billion years we'll have the technology to fix / stop the sun OR move the earth.

I don't see it as crazy at all. I see it as normal nature.

I also don't care, cause I won't be here when it happens.

Global warmings and wars do matter. What happens in 4 billion years, actually, is what doesn't matter. That some people feel like we need to protect "the earth" is pretty foolish - what we need to worry about is protecting the quality of life of humanity. That is of course intrisincally connected to the environment, and we should care about the environment - just not for the sake of "the planet".

Yeah, they matter now. I was saying that in 4 billion years that wars/etc wont matter.

But yeah, they def matter NOW for us, on a HUGE scale... just funny how they wont matter at all later.

It really makes you think. 4,000,000,000 billion years, that's 1, 2, 3, 4,000,000,000 billion! We don't have a lot of time on this planet that's for sure.

We've only got 35,040,000,000,000 hours to get the hell of this rock. Better get working!

The continents are also moving.
In a few hundred million years you might not recognize the place.

Exactly -- the "planet" will be fine -- shaking us off like a bad case of fleas....

...at least until the Death Star pulls up alongside and blows it to bits.
