You probably did overfill it. Needs a proper setup to check high and low pressures, not one of those single gauge kits from the auto parts store.

I'd check it again. You most likely overfilled it.

Outer CV joint quit after hitting a nasty pothole last night . All other suspension components seem unharmed.

Also got a small bubble in my tire and is already in the process of being replaced through TireRack/Sonsio (god I love their customer support).

Anyone know how hard it is to pull down the head liner? I'm going to install a rear dash cam some day when I get around to paying for another one, but I want to install it probably just right behind the dome light, most likely with a power tap directly from the dome light. If it's really stupidly complicated I'd forego the middle of the car placement and just live with missing several feet of area on the sides of my cars.

The impreza runs quite a low charge psi so if you used a single hose with a green range marking and put it in the green you overfilled it.

I posted the charts last year i think, no time to search, if you dont have a proper manifold set you can rent them from autozone. I bought one last year it has been great to have

Whatever you're going to remove the wheels with, plus a caliper bolt socket. I'll look up the size in the manual for you but that's really all you need. I think it's 12-14mm.

Service manual doesn't say but pretty sure it's 14mm.

By the way, siphon out some brake fluid if possible, or at least wrap a towel around the reservoir because it WILL piss corrosive brake fluid all over your engine bay when you push the pistons in, assuming it's not underfilled currently.

Harbor Freight one works fine. They have a 20% off coupon now and 25% off on July 4th.

Thanks Keen.

I noticed an issue last year as well, I think This started right after I got my shortblock replaced. I noticed last year very notchy driving around town with the AC on; the compressor switching on and off based on acceleration. This is normal to some extent but wasn't normal on my car. I initially thought it might be something with the TH tune, but now I'm thinking it may be just the amount of refrigerant

I can really notice a difference when the compressor is engaged. Once in awhile if I'm accelerating and the compressor kicks on, I'll get a bit of a kickback. But what I notice most is how sluggish it is off a stop light when the compressor is engaged. This is with a CVT though, not sure how the engine would behave with 5MT.

Speaking of slow, poop is right. Oh man. Lost 26HP on paper moving out here ***128546; I wonder if some of it is due to the ECU needing to adjust. Probably not much. But I'm now a telecommuter, so she won't be on the road much for the near future.

Living near and occasionally passing through high altitudes has convinced me that I NEVER want another car with a weight to horsepower ratio anywhere near the Impreza (20lbs per hp...) unless it has a turbo or preferably supercharger. Although, more importantly, not a CVT either.

Haven't checked the manual yet on 85, but it seems like I'd be fine putting it in. Don't plan on leaving this altitude anytime soon, if anything I'll be going up when exploring (like Pikes Peak). I reached out to dealers to see what they say. The local one says 85. Denver says they go with 87. Interesting.

It might be placebo but the car feels like it's starting to adjust a little bit. It's probably that I'm adjusting... Oh how I wish I had a WRX now. Lots of them round here ***128512;

Been a minute since Ive been on the boards. Just returned from a 6 month deployment.

Let us know how the brake pad change goes, if you run into any issues, etc. I have an OEM set laying around that I have to throw on my car.

Also came home from that 6 months to find an absolutely dead and worthless battery. Doesnt help my wife didnt start my car ONCE.

Yeah should have left that on a maintainer... if it's a newer battery you might be able to warranty it. Just don't tell them you let it die like that. Just tell them it won't start or hold a charge and they probably won't ask any questions.

I had zero problems changing the brake pads at around 50k. They weren't super low but I didn't want them to wear out when I was going on a several-day drive. I didn't even change the shims or use grease on the original shims. No problems.

I pulled mine down to put CLD tiles on the inner roof, car sounded like a tin can in the rain.

Getting it down is really easy, just remove the light fixtures and I think the pillars. Its been a while. I never did actually remove the liner because it wasnt flexible at all so I just dropped it down and worked around it. Youll have to reach but it should be easy enough.

Find whatever has the best warranty and ignore Exide batteries. That's really the best you can do. 99% of the batteries you'll see are the exact same ones from Johnson Controls with different branding for different stores. Batteries are so hit and miss the best thing you can do is get the best warranty possible.

I found a setting that I cant figure out what it does. I'm hoping someone else knows. If you put the car in acc and press the trip button the odometer screen turns on. Press it a few more times and u get a hidden on off menu. Does anyone know what it turns on/off?

That enables or disables the sweeping of the gauges when you turn the key to ON.
