yes, i put everything manually into the radio so i figured there'd be a way to input a name into that section. Guess not. I also attempted to figure out how to send my phone book over with bluetooth but didnt know how - it seems as if they were designing these features and stopped halfway through

Found some radios from the same guy I ordered from. Mine should be here Wed. European version. Rear is the same as the US, including rear camera but it may not have HD radio, which isn't available near me anyway.

My next plan is to do a reverse camera. In my oem 12 sedan limited radio harness, a plug already goes into the reverse camera socket. Anybody know if my model would be prewired for it? Thanks for this thread OP. I'm a little happier today

Yep, everything works! Usb and bt with no issues. Sounds sooo much better ROI. Couldn't be happier

Will this fit in a 2013 base WRX 5dr? Looks awesome, but I'm afraid about the install. Is it literally unplug old, plug in new to the same connectors?

YES! Install was take off trim, unscrew, unplug, and remove. Replug, rescrew, retrim. Done!

Sorry, your 2012 WRX is not pre-wired for a camera. But I make a harness for that. You'll also need to add the reverse gear signal to pin 16 on your factory aux/mic harness. E-mail me for details (see my profile or homepage).

What exactly does the news button do when using this stereo?

From what i read after searching google, it seems to be an interrupting traffic bulletin that will be broadcasted over the radio in the event of a crash, traffic congestion, etc... Don't think this applies in the US. When I hit the button, a "TA" shows up on the screen, but nothing happens. Maybe somebody can locate a manual

Damn you making me spend money like that. Just bought one of the last 3 from the first link. $217 isn't bad. I have sat radio in my car, but never use the 10 channels I have access to so not too big a deal loosing it. Bought mainly for the ease of use with USB drive and searching through my massive collection.

In all honesty though, thank you for posting those! I have been wanting this upgrade for a while. If I get sick of it I will probably go full aftermarket.

How long was it from purchase to delivery? I will be impatiently awaiting this unit.

They said It shipped the same day i won the auction, but the tracking number i got displayed nothing on the fedex site. I sent them an email inquiring a few days later and they gave me a new one. From there it was shipped from China, to Alaska to my area in about five days. Actually came two days before the fedex estimated delivery date.

Thanks for your purchase. This subaru 2012 car radio is original one and dis-assembled from new subaru car. During the dis-assemble process, there are some glue on the button. They are very little. and this radio is totally unused. It is ok for you?

Please understand the dis-assembled part is a good approach to get the original part, but sometime it may have some very very ittle inconvenience.

Yeah that was my thoughts too. I have some glue solvent at work I can give a try, hopefully it's not too bad.

Edit: So they sent me a picture. Very minimal amount of glue in top left of picture.

I was able to get one from a 2012 Impreza. 86201FJ630. Looks like its the same unit just from a different vehicle. Got it from a junk yard- they are going to ship it to me now. Got it for 200. The guy took some pics for me and said there was some corrosion on the casing, and were not able to test it becaues the car battery wouldn't turn over. I took the gamble- hopefully it works. The pics dont look that bad.

No they don't. That's why I passed when I saw them. I really enjoy the HD radio!

I ended up buying my unit from member "burnurass." Perfect HU, perfect transaction! I'm very happy with this, the OEM Kicker Accessory speakers & tweeters, and a Helix P-n-P PP50DSP Amp.

I've never heard hd radio before, so don't know how to compare it. All I really do is stream my sirius through BT. I know this is a popular mod now and checking out ten sites a day gets old real quick. The euro radio, with out a doubt, sounds better than the POS that comes with the car. Thanks OP for the radio info. I would've never known

It's really a dramatic difference over standard broadcast FM. But, hey you got a GREAT deal on the Euro version of the "Type B" HU, even if it doesn't have HD radio!

Trust me, if I could find one of the US versions, I'd own one of the Euro's too.

Price seems good but I'm assuming these models don't have the HD radio. Any other differences between these and US models?
