I drive them quite often actually (I sell them). I am a big fan of it, and she fell even more in love with it after yesterday. We went to an unplowed parking lot that had easily 5-6 inches of snow, and it plowed right through without hesitation.

Said parking lot...ok so maybe not 6 inches, but enough snow to strand a FWD anything

Guitarzan nice pickup! My GF has a '13 2.0i as well, it has been a great car. I can get a little more loose in her car in the snow because mine just gets out of control so fast, ha. Is that Plasma Blue? It looks different than the WRX color but then again it could be the pictures. I'll keep an eye out for your cars, but if you got yours from Doyle you're probably too far north!

It's Marine Blue Pearl, and we both live south of Rochester, in the Canandaigua area. I am north quite frequently because I work there What do you drive so I can keep an eye out? Edit, reading comprehension fail, DGM WRX haha

Crazy, my gf and I moved to Canandaigua in October! Now that you meantion it I have seen a silver bugeye with that exhaust on 444. Mine's the DGM w/ gold wheels and red RA flaps, hers is a stock red 2.0i w/ black RA flaps. In those pictures the blue does look a lot darker than marine blue.

I actually just bought the car about 3 weeks ago, so idk if that was me you were seeing or not. We live in Manchester/Shortsville. I don't think I've seen either of you around, but now I'm going to be on the lookout! Yay for making friends on the internet The pictures were edited so that might be it, or I forgot what color code her car is...that seems more likely haha Because picture thread! Also, post a picture of your girlfriends car with the flaps if you can, I'm trying to convince mine it would look sweet with some flaps!

Hmm, it was definitely over a month ago so must have been a different one. I don't have any pics of her car with the stock 16's on it, heres on of when I first put the flaps on w/ the stock 17's from my car (it looks so much better with these):

Not saying I'm putting them in stock halogen housings, but is our wiring harness safe to run 55w HID's? Or is it safer to just run the 35w kits? Never had any experience with the 55w kits.

Run 35W HID's from DDM Tuning

http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/DD...ast-35W-or-55W

I've had them for over a year and half and they beat out any of those crap Ebay kits.

They are pointed low and super bright. My wife and I switched cars one day and she was driving behind me and I did not once feel like the lights were blinding me.

I have a Canadian Limited model that came stock with HIDs. A few weeks ago I parked next to a base Impreza and compared the headlights/housing and at a glance they don't seem any different. Anybody know the differences?

Note: by no means am I recommending putting HIDs in the halogen housing. I am just curious to know what the difference is between them.

The biggest difference between the halogen and HID bulb's output is the location of the filament, so the HID's sit in the housing at a different position. I'm sure the reflectors have some minor differences too, mostly to prevent glare.

Just curious, what kind of bulbs came with the car? Does it just have regular halogens in the high beam?

This plus autolevelers.

No autolevelers, no want hid, even with a retrofit, you put 200 pounds in the back and you will be blinding everyone.

Everything is stock. These are the specifications from the owners manual...

High beam headlight: HB3 (9005) 12V-60W
Low beam headlight: D2R 12V-35W
Front fog light: PSX24W 12V-24W

Nice...

It looks like they used the same reflector, but the cutoff cap is slightly longer, with a shorter mount and it's closer to the reflector. I'm sure that inside the the mount for the bulb is different, and like flyboy said, you have the self levelers too.

I do find it strange that it still uses the 9005 bulb for highs, since the D2r's probably have over a thousand more lumens... I guess the cutoff actually cuts off the lumen output?

Do the non-US top-line models just have the US non-Sport 17's? IE, the US-spec top line non-Sport 17x7 multi spoke wheels. Are they identical to these "foreign spec" 17's? They look identical.

The foreign Sport US spec 5 door wheel is only available in the US. The US non-sport 17 are actually the sport wheel everywhere except in the US.

Yeah, awb, I posted this on the other thread.

And the US sport wheel is an older, painted Legacy Outback wheel...
