What's the Value of this Display?
I can't figure out from the manual or online (and search) what I can do to employ this display

I believe this display shows break vector activity, so if it dynamically activates one of your brakes (brake vectoring), then you'll see that here.
I'm sure someone else can give a more detailed explanation, as I only barely understand it myself. |

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "employ this display." If you mean turn it on - then it should be on by default.
When it's on, the powertrain shown will illuminate in blue during normal driving. I've had this screen up while driving, and that is exactly what happens, then when you come to a stop, the blue illumination goes out until you start moving again. If at any time during driving, any component of the Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) system is activated (eg. during slipping on an icy or gravelly road), the tires will light up in yellow, and the VDC icon flashes in yellow. Also, the scale at the bottom (0 to 30 sec) will show how long the VDC system was activated for. If you don't see the blue illumination during normal driving, that would suggest that it is off. If it's off, then the warning lights should be on on the multi-information display on the instrument panel (bottom and left on speedometer). The switch to turn it on is below the a/c vent on the left on the steering wheel (where the trunk open and dash light dimmer are). I could be wrong, but I think the main reason for it is a visual warning that the VDC is activated, so you would be aware of an unsafe condition and slow down - unless you're deliberately making the car do fun stuff! Manual describes the operation. pg. 3-23, 3-52 and 7-38 (if we have the same manuals!). Hope that helps Last edited by Amoreuxi; 08-31-2015 at 03:42 PM. |
