Do you have to cut off the front bumper beam? I understand that you have to cut the fog housings off and that is not my question. I mean I literally can't see how the beam is removable which would make it impossible to weld in the new core support

The Bumper beam bolts to the frame rails, and is removable....

Okay old core support is out. I put the new one up to fit it and about 75% of my holes are not even remotely close to lining up

In reference to both the piece on the hood and the latch itself, is an 04/05 hood latch required? My hood won't close all the way with the 02/03 latches

Lol well I have a 2.5 rs core support I don't k ow if it's different but the holes didn't line up very well at all. Also my front bumper was cut for a fmic and it had literally nothing to attach to do I had to make some brackets but it turned out pretty nice

Definitely a huge upgrade. It's not perfect but it is 1000 times better than it was before. Thanks for the write up man

Hood I found on Craigslist for 175 bucks

I bought the core support, headlights and grille for $220 shipped off NASIOC

Then I found a pair of fenders and a bumper in wrb off NASIOC and got those for $400 shipped.

It took some time and it's not perfect theirs some dents and scratches but it was a hell of a lot better than paying 2 grand for something off eBay that wasn't even the right color

Just be patient check the forum and craigslist daily. No one ever thought I'd actually do this swap but I did and it looks jdm az fuk yo

Mine is bolted in for the time being. I don't have a tig welder but sometime down the road I will have it welded in by someone. Bolted will be fine temporary

My rad support is rusted to hell on my 02. Bought a JDM 02 STi front clip that comes with a rad support.

Will it be an easier swap compared to switching the bugeye to a blobeye or hawkeye since it's the same rad support?

Also apologies for resurrecting a dead thread but it's kinda in my name lol

Nah really wont make it any easier. Still need to drill out all the spots welds and weld in the new one. Only thing that will make it easier will be not having to do the wiring conversion for the headlights.
