Default 06 impreza n/a lost compression after storage

06 impreza n/a, remanned engine with 90k miles. Was running great. Left it at airport for 2 months, battery died of course, fixed that. Still wouldn't start. Had to have it towed. Tech said all 4 cylinders 40psi, timing is good. Still won't start! Im lost for ideas. Please send suggestions

Cylinders went dry - ask tech if he tried a wet compression test. In fact ask him why he did not if he didn't try a wet test - that's the second thing you do in that situation.

What are the odds that will increase the compression long enough for the oil to pressurize and fix it?

This has nothing to do with engine oil pressure.
The oil lubricates the cylinder walls and helps the piston rings seal against the cylinder wall. If there is no oil left on the cylinder walls (either due to thin oil, too much fuel in oil, engine flooded while trying to start, sitting too long) compression will be low.

Many times once you squirt some oil in the spark plug holes and test compression again the readings come up. That is what a "wet" test is. When you read low compression, the next step should be a wet test. That tells you if the cause was the rings. In your case it is doubtful your rings have failed - they have just gone dry. It may simply be your engine flooded when you tried to start it and that is the cause of the low compression. This is assuming you have air, fuel, spark, and timing.

These are things your technician should have been able to discover easily as part of their inspection/diagnosis leading them to make the decision to perform the compression test - and they should be able to give you an answer if you ask them. We would need to know all those things to point you in the right direction.
