That has to be like jumping or something and nailing the bed first on the way down. What does the back of the cab look like?

Yea I have a 02 wrangler as well. The stock shafts on any of the Dana's suck beside the rubicons. That would sheer off no problem with even 33 or 35 tire on the sport wrangler.

I had a local who just got their first subaru, a 93 impreza. Scraping noise when he turns, told him to bring the car by. His mechanic said the outer tie rods are toast. The are, but I know they do not make a terrible noise like this. lift the car...
Those are Eibach's on GR-2's - first time I have seven seen this in person. I slapped some oem front on, happy camper for now. |

1996 Nissan Hardbody 4WD 4cyl driven by a young female college student. Truck was very nice to see on the outside, very good condition body and underneath, but a beyond trashed interior. I have seen interiors sitting in salvage yards in better condition...it was even missing the transfer case knob. Sad.
Customer complaint: "It used to go if you reved it up and put it in third gear.....now it wont go at all....." k |

**sigh** I've been putting coolant in my wife's truck for a week, just waiting for it to stabilize. She never drives very far, just to the store, so not much danger of getting hot, but it took a gallon of dexcool (? yellow ford stuff) before I saw a level in the expansion tank. At least the oil is good. I was praying that damn thing wasn't pissing coolant out somewhere, but just poor maintenance apparently. Borrowed vehicle. |

Even if the guy didn't off road it, the reputation of the Dana 35 is that you can easily break it with 31s if you gun it on a wet road. |

This thread is awesome. I'm actually starting school soon for mechanics and yes I know I'll deal with morons/idiots, but I very much enjoy tinkering with a variety of things esp cars (duh). Anyway on to my story, this goes hand and hand with the sexist stuff about the women not knowing crap about cars. My sister who doesn't know **** about cars took her car in to the shop, I can't remember exactly what was wrong but they were going to charge her about 900 dollars. She called me, and asked me about it, I told her it should only cost around 5-600 including labor since the part wasn't expensive.
I also called my father-in-law who is a journey man mech for 50 years, worked for the big 3 @ a company called TRW. They custom built race car engines and tested ones that will last for 10+ years. He said the same thing I did. So I called my sister back, told her "Go back to them and tell them your brother and your in-law are both mechanics and say you're ripping me off and to only pay this amount, so either you be fair or I take my business elsewhere" They dropped the price immediately PS: That hyundai video is disturbing. However working on lots of random cars... I've seen some like that, just not nearly as bad lol. |

I have seen something similar to that.
2000 mustang customer said "The passenger rear tire keeps going flat" Upon inspection I found a 1 3/4" spade head drill bit chuck side first through the tread andnout the side wall. The crazy thing was the spade bit had been in there so long it was conformed to the shape of the tire, and worn down half way. God knows how long that bit was in that tire. |
