Looks nice, scored one from Macanudo here at work, sadly it's too short for the imp so it's now in my Cherokee.

Quick question to those who have installed Hella Supertones and used the Subimods wiring harness: how did you get it to plug into the factory harness?

It seems like our year has a different connector, as it won't fit the connection on the Subimods harness (factory connector below):

http://i.imgur.com/uV6yTcZ.jpg

It also seems that the Subimods harness isn't the best wire length for our cars either, as the good mounting point for the relay by the washer fluid resevoir ends up being too far away for the wires to be able to hook up to the horns themselves. Before I start ripping apart the harness, has anybody made the Subimods harness work?

I used the Subimods harness on my car. Yes the plug was bigger than the factory plug but I just trimmed it to fit and it worked fine. Then I wrapped it in electrical tape but I went to rewrap it and pulled the connector off so I just spliced it in before the factory connector and still works the same.
For the relay I zip tied it to a hole on the driver's side top part where there was a open hole and didn't seem to have any issues with length.

I don't have the subimods harness, but I made my own. I cut the connector off one of the factory horns and soldered that on my harness so it will plug into the other factory connector.

There is a thread "2012 2.0I supertones install" or something like that, I posted my pictures there

Thanks for the feedback, I'll probably look at it again this weekend see how to make it work the best. I have to figure out where to mount the relay - the harness is only long enough to mount it behind the bumper beam. I'd have to modify it to put it in either of your locations

Thanks buddy. I'm still using the factory grille and you can't see the horn much unless you switch to a sport grille. The tabs for the license plate holes, I got that at Lowe's hardware store. Pretty cheap . http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2306527

MjSub2.0- Nice. Did u get a new grilletoo. I got the same ones but mounted them ib the middle with the Subimods bracket. I have a mesh grille and people are always looking at my car as the horns stick out and are very noticeable. I had someone ask if they were speakers.

Car is at tanabe for springs and "chasis parts"
It was supposed to get an exhaust as well but when I showed him the rear bumper he said the R&D guys would have to see if they would even want to develop an exhaust that would need modification to the rear bumper

Yeah, I didn't really want to slam it nor do I plan on doing so. But since I just got some 245's this weekend, I'll probably roll my fenders because I'm not sure if the fronts will clear. If I do roll the fenders, I might lower it a bit more to eliminate the wheel gap completely but we'll see. The current ride height is pretty functional.

The Subimods harness plugs into the horn on the passenger side, not the one in the front of the car with the ambient temp probe attached to it.
