@Epic_Beck

That's the USDM OE piece with an adapter kit. The JDM bezel opening is narrower than the vents underneath the radio.

This is the JDM one:

OK... I haven't done anything to mine yet, so I'm just looking at what's been done. About your method, just by looking at the grille from the outside, it looks like it could be disassembled... Am I wrong? Now that I look closely at the pic, I see that your method is probably what this guy did. I can see the cuts and uneven parts on it. I've done this before on a Lancer,

and I liked the outcome, but I'm not so sure about the WRX's. I don't like the one that sells on eBay, but I do like the ones on the newer WRX's and STi's, so I think I'll be inclined to that one instead of breaking the factory one

IMO, loose it... Pepsi Blue along with your rim setup looks just fine...

The reason I asked is in the picture of the head unit it looks like it has a trim around it. But I wanted it to look flush when I got the JDM bezel and didn't know if having the trim on the radio itself was permanent or optional.

I have the same one (can't recall if I posted a pic here or not). Here's some other views of that HU with the OEM bezel and crutchfield (scosche, IIRC) trim piece.

My startup screen on my DNX 5120:

I found the info here:
http://my350z.com/forum/audio-and-vi...d-dnx5120.html

Can't say if it'll work on the newer model or not... try googling.

I think that depends on the radio, if the face itself is regular DIN width, the JDM bezel will fit right around it. If the face is narrower than DIN width, then the manufacturer may have put a bezel around it to fit into a DIN slot.

If you can find dimensions of the faceplate with ot without the trim piece, that will give you an idea of fitment.

I agree here. At first I was iffy on it but seeing more shots I kind of like it. Very unique. In my opinion though I'd sand and paint the hella's shelling white and maybe some white wheels also.

Really like the painted rear piece! I want to try that on my DGM. I'm thinkin flat black

uhhhh...to each their own I suppose, but I see absolutely no point in this, just rock the plate in the factory location.

haha, i know what your're saying. but, it will allow a RI light bar to be mounted eventually. so there is potential for some functionality. but for me, i just like the asymetrical look

Like I said, to each their own. Personally I could see some benefit if the bumper didn't have the stock mounting location, ie flush front bumper. It also just seems out of place on the 08+ the plate needs to be higher, again just my opinion.

+1.
