Need Road Bike Help
I've decided I want a flat bar road bike. I'm too pansy to put up with drop bars, and I'm not fast anyway, so I might as well be comfortable.
My two contenders are: Jamis Coda Comp: Steel Frame, carbon forks, Deore XT derailleur, Shimano R440 shifters Raleigh Route 66: Aluminum Frame, carbon forks, Shimano 105 derailleur, Shimano R440 shifters These two have pretty similar specs, and are priced pretty close. My current leaning is toward the Jamis. Although it weighs a couple more pounds, I'm thinking the steel frame will be a bit more comfy. Since I'm already compromising toward comfort... I'm wondering about Deore XT vs. 105 though. I'm fairly familiar with the 105, and I like it very much. The owner of the bike shop prefers the Deore XT. So straighten me out, OT bike gurus. |
