This wont affect the stock 2005 wrx rim color?

As i was pressure washing my rims i had to much PSI and completely removed the silver paint from the center cap.

-Im sure this is somewhere in thread but say I wanted a gloss coat on top of dipped wheels. What would be my best product choice to you more experienced plasti dip users?

Um, let me think about this one, how about the Plasti Dip Glossifier? Okay, seriously, everything I've read says that anything else over PD is going to make it a pita to remove

Anyone know of a de greaser and or tar removal that works best for this stuff?
I think bug and tar remover should may work.

I sprayed my taillights with 8 layes of PD SMOKE and it was just a tacky feeling so I put a few layers of clear coat on it. It turned out great and the overspray on the edges was super easy to get off. Just don't put thick coats on th PD and you will be fine.

And About the PD on brakes. I have been testing out its heat capacity. I painted my exahust tip black and PD white just to see if it would stay up to the heat. After a couple days it is still white and the black isn't faded . It looks like a skunk exhaust.

Ive had my exhaust dipped for a year, the exhaust is irrelevant to how it will react to brake temps.

Ok. why is that. I would suspect the calipers to not get as hot as the exhaust. especially with air flowing past the brakes plus the calipers shouldn't get as hot as the rotors.

Brakes get way hotter than cat backs

This, they can get several times hotter than your exhaust tips very quickly. All it would take is at most a few hard/high speed stops and you'll be way past the upper threshold of plastidip.

you can't use plasti dip on calipers, the temp of the brakes, and the duration of the heat will melt the dip. There are a few threads on the DYC forum about this, and every time it is a fail. exhaust tips get no where near the temps of brakes.

If your going to paint exhaust black just buy a can of high temp paint. And if you want to the original finish back sand it or buy aircraft remover paint.

It's an 05 2.5rs, originally crystal grey metallic. I used the gunmetal plastidip and a pearlizer. I used the gun they sell at dipyourcar.com and am overall pleased with the results. It seems to be holding up well so far, although it's only been on there for a week.

This one has a bit more light, so you can see the effect of the pearlizer a little better.

Looks good GOD lol

One things that peeves me is the badges on the trunk..

Should've debadged it.

What wheels are those, they look like newer maxima wheels.

Car needs better stance like ASAP

As you can imagine the amount a brake dust that accumulates on these wheels.. has anyone had any luck getting brake dust off of PD? I tried a wet cloth, but the brake dust seems to just dig itself deeper.

Thanks

Spray it with simple green as soon as you start to see brake dust.

I use mothers chrome wheel cleaner and a wheel brush. Or brake dust pro and a brush if they are really dirty
