![]() Sorry, Ford. I will not buy a car that looks like the Merc Gle Coupe / BMW X4. Many people also think they look horrendous along with myself. *puke*
You may have a hard sell on your hands if it comes with those looks. --kC |

![]() We all know the Tesla model Y will eat its lunch and be less of a hassle to buy, own and maintain while retaining more resale value.
But Ford has to have a version 1.0 to start with. |

![]() The sketch looks like a sleek wagon-style profile, while the CAD drawings look to be a Tesla-like blob. Huge disappointment.

I don't see this being any more of a "success" than what the Bolt was. |

![]() But Ford is also coming out with the Bronco and baby Bronco. I think the bigger question is how many dealers will be able to sell and support the Mustang CUV EV. Would there be enough sales to add that support? The Bolt requires certified dealers to handle any issues.

I just don't see this being a success when they have limited lot space, requires an investment into the salespeople from the franchise owner to train them, and the fact that they have a wide variety of other products that will probably make the dealer more money that they'll push you towards. |

![]() There will be one of these things in the back of the showroom, behind a fully loaded Ranger. And guess what the salesman is going to direct the potential buyer to?
And then the owners will be looking around for a place to charge, crossing their fingers that Electrify America builds something nearby (like Tesla owners were doing 5+ years ago). Ford needs to really commit to this and I'm not sure they will once it gets into production. Last edited by arghx7; 10-31-2019 at 02:33 PM. |

![]() Well I think it's basically CCS and Tesla. Chademo is on borrowed time. Tesla switched to CCS in Europe, but in North America it will probably stay separate.

![]() Awful idea. The mustang is a great car. It lives in it's own image. Leave it that way. Find a way to design something that will be it's own thing, don't create an electric SUV and pretend it's a mustang.

![]() I meant model X
Have not seen the Y yet But my expectations are low of it follows the current design cues If it looks like that Rivian truck thing it may be ok |

![]() They have already released pictures of the Y. It's just not in production yet. It actually looks OK compared to the rest of their lineup.

![]() The Model Y looks leaps and bounds better than the 3. No offense to mode 3 owners, and it's subjective, but the 3 is so far beyond boring and generic looking that it's only few redeeming qualities are name brand, mileage, performance (dual motor).
Ford is not a Tesla challenger. Ford buying demographics are either truck owners, CUV / SUV owners who are not really super concerned with being new with flash tech but generic. I think Tesla challengers 2030 years ago there's lotta conversations that I've had rats clearly the fact I think Tesla challengers come from the Audi + dollar range. I'm also on Maui and fairly intoxicated so I'm not sure I'm saying words. |
