FYI: I've just tried this on a 2007 WRX TR, and Pin 23 on both D1 and B30 are missing. So I am guessing it is not pre-wired. Unless someone else has done this, I checked my 07WRX service manual and the heated mirrors still goto those locations. It's just absent from the connectors.

Guessing you didn't get it working? I bought a used set of Canadian mirrors that already had the heated elements. So I would still like to get them hooked up, but trying to figure out how to do it now. Perhaps hooking it up to a switch or something. Assuming it would be a pain to run the wires to the relay block.

Anyone else try a DIY on the 07s?

bumping an old thread, but i happen to have a set of heated mirrors off an 04 premium, would i use this same procedure, negating the adding of the heated element to the oem mirror?

I assume the 2 wires coming from the heating element are a positive an negative. Why not make a relay, fused, get power straight from the battery, and using the defrost button as a signal for the relay?

Thats how mine works from the factory.

Time to resurrect this thread! I'm looking at adding heated mirrors but the links to the original wiring PDFs are giving me 404's now. Anyone have the diagrams that were originally posted here?

Also, I've looked through some of the other threads about installing heated mirrors but it seems like most people are working it on sedans rather than wagons. Would anything be different with wiring in my 04 wagon (more specifically, the required relay) compared to sedans? I'm working with the assumption that I'd still need to get a relay and that the mirror heating elements will work on the same switch as the rear defroster.

I would like to do this to my 14 WRX but the links aren't working. Where can I purchase the heating elements? Thanks.

Johnny come lately here..... Why not just wire directly to the rear defroster system?

I’m considering doing this to my Japanese import and surely it’s as simple as wiring to the defrost button. The question would be
A: can the switch take the power load
B: what determines the time? Unless you wire to the wires going to the rear window

I'd like to do this to my jdm also. Do I need a bigger relay or is it literally just wire to defrost button
