![]() Recently I've been wondering a bit about roll center. Its tossed around quite a bit and I've seen a few diagrams and have a rough idea what it is but I still had my questions about how it affects things, how roll center is influenced, etc.
Whiteline has a new website up that is a good basic starting point for suspension information as there is a technical section where people with all makes and models can ask their questions as well as an "educational" section. http://suspensionparts.info Anyway, I posted my questions about roll center here: http://suspensionparts.info/showthre...=1258#post1258 If any of you have any direct questions to add, go ahead and register on that board and ask directly on that thread, so we can keep it all in one place.

![]() Here is what John Felstead said about rake in the monster "Video lap of the Nurburgring, STi5 TypeRA Style" thread.
What he says about roll and rake corresponds well with books. Just got off the phone with a friend who is a crew chief. A big thing is how raising or lowering an end of the car affects the camber gain at that end. Another thing is the roll center to CG relationship front and rear needs to be correct. If it's way off it really messes up a car. Arnie, I'll also add questions to the thread you mentioned. Good topic! |

![]() Here is a more technical explanation of Role Center:
http://users.pandora.be/elvo/ Go to "Suspension" and then about 1/3 of the way down. Yah, it's an RC car site, but the theory still applies. (What I do since I can't afford real rallying) |
