Default ap-sub-002 vs. ap-sub-003???

People say ap-sub-002 works for all Subaru 2.5s, but their site lists the 003 for the '07 Forester XT, which is a 2.5.

So what's the difference? Is it the pre-loaded base maps? Would I be able to use an 002 if I Protune it immediately?

I ask because the 002s show up used from time to time. Almost never see an 003.

Thanks!

These two AccessPORT's have different part numbers because they support different vehicles.

The big change is in the type of ECU communication. The Federal government mandated the change for emmisions testing, I believe. This required a redevelopment. When hear someone talking CAN, they're talking about the new form of communication.

It's basically as big or some may say, a bigger change than made from the 2.0 to the 2.5 liter ECU's.

Ah. I see. So it seems as if the 003 is going to be useful for some time going forward... Dang.

I'd buy a new one bit I just wasted $280 on a UTEC tune... I'm dumping the Delta because I'm not interested in tuning it myself. I want to set it and forget it.
