Anyone here have an AK-47?
Thinking of picking up my buddy's. He's moving to LA and needs cash. I don't have the exact specs in front of me but it's got a brand new butt and grip, plus the original, a bunch of ammo, a hard case w/lock and some other misc stuff he's got. He's selling it for $250. I've fired it quite a lot and love it, nothing shoots quite like one of these.
Anyone have one or know of some good sites to buy parts/upgrades or forums to discuss/learn? Thanks Evan

Do you what kind it is? (what country it was originally produced in?)
Quality and price varies a LOT by country of origin. |

It's not chinese, pretty sure its either Russian or Ukranian? I'll have to ask him again which it is. The replacement stock is East German.

I have one. Theyre pretty nice, not very accurate out past 200yds but still fun to shoot. Depending on what kinda muzzle brake it has id get a new one for it. The one I have vents all the gas up and reduces alot of the muzzle lift. Its got 3 ports one straight up and 2 of at like a 30ish degree angle off each side.
Another good site for gun stuff is www.impactguns.com The funnest gun Ive ever shot is a HK G3. Thats where its at. |

Great Guns.
They hardly ever jam, are cheap, and are pretty darned accurate. Not to mention the ammo for them is cheap. |

Many years ago I went on a hunting/camping trip in oregon in the town where the movie fire in the sky was based on. Just about every local we ran into up in the hills had two similar items in his truck:
1. Chainsaw 2. SKS It was pretty unnerving at times as they would get up to a high cliff and spray the forest if they saw a herd of elk. We finally found a place where none of them would go, the actual area where the trucker supposedly got abducted. That was more unnerving than good ol boys with automatic assault rifles though. Freaky stuff happens in those woods. If I lived there id probably pack around an ak or sks too. |

I challenge your child to open my safe.
People don't turn car threads into preachy car seats for babies!, but they'll do it everytime for a gun thread. I'm not a big rifle shooter, I have maybe 5. My favorite is my CAR-15. Here's a pic that will send the haters through the roof! It's all black and menacing, let's ban it! Last edited by SubEd; 09-20-2003 at 05:57 PM. |
