Default Do you need a tune to install a catless downpipe ?

I've heard different thoughts about this.
I'm new to the subie community.
Just bought a 2007 wrx wagon

There are no different thoughts on running a downpipe on a 2007 WRX. Tune is a requirement.

yes. 2 things happen. 1 is boost creap so you will slowly over boost. 2 the car has a delay when transitioning from lean fueling for cruising to rich fueling for boost. With the down pipe boost will build sooner but the delay will remain the same so you will get knock from the lean mixture under boost.
