So... some of you might remember that I bought a 97 GT Wagon last Friday? Here's what I bought to refresh the memory:

Well... after I had it for 2 days, the cam gear "shattered" causing everything the intake cam was attached to, to stop functioning. Low and behold, the dealership says it needs a new engine... and none of it will be warranty. They quoted me $3k for a new engine, and I said eff that.

After having my job threated because I called off too many times for not having a ride, I realized that I needed a car by Monday. I went down to the dealership today and walked away with a 08 Legacy.

Here's some pics:

Bought it with 9 miles, and it's now got 100 miles!

Sexy! Is the wagon manual?

Nevermind, she's not.

It was auto. I had to have a manual, so it worked out pretty good.

That interior is gorgeous! Really lame about the wagon though. I can't imagine they could have warrantied it, but I hope they cut you a deal because of it on the new car.

Yeah, I wasn't expecting any sort of warranty on it, but I was really upset that my $6300 car I bought 2 days ago just decided to blow up after it's meticulous service history.

I talked to the owner himself, Gunnar Heuberger, and worked things out. He gave me quite a deal, really. He said they would give me $6300 credit towards anything in the lot, and they would take the GT as a total lose on their end.

I guess it worked out for the best!

The only sad part about this story is that the 1997 wagon looked soooooo clean and mint in that photo. What a shame that it blew up. However, that 2008 is mint AND under warranty!!!

must be colorado there isn't a 2 wheel drive car in the pictures.
looks like you picked an se model does the 08's still come with a plastic/rubber steering wheel like the 07's if so a wheel skin and shift knob really upscales the cockpit. autoupgrade.net has cheaper prices than wheelskin them selves and shipping is included.

I just picked up an 08 Legacy Limited myself. I hope you like yours as much as I like mine.

Us non-turbo guys have to stick together .
