Default Best dealer in the BA?

I am looking at ordering a new WRX soon, what dealer(s) should I go to for a good deal and good service? I'm looking to pay around invoice, is that possible in this area?

Also, if anyone has a specific contact to use, that's even better.

Also, if you could post what you paid and what TTL was for you, that would be very helpful. I know some dealers try to tack on BS fees.

Thanks!

I drove two hours outside of BA to save me 2k, but if your getting a 2014 i believe most dealers will give you decent deals...

Capitol is decent, although I only use them for maintenance. Almost bought a legacy 3.6r limited out of Elk Grove subaru for the wife. Great guys out there, were willing to negotiate and came down in price quite a bit.

i like livermore, they did some work on my car with a cam sensor problem and only charged me for the labor to fix it and parts for what they tried before hand. they were prompt and polite. when i was looking for a car the people there were nice and even though i did not buy from there they were still friendly when i was looking around when i was waiting on my car (the other dealers i have been to the sales staff are never friendly when you meander around.)

I went all around the bay area and ended up at serramonte subaru. Are you getting a base model? I got a base 2013 hatch. All dealers will give you that bs mark up crap. If you aren't in a hurry, you can avoid this. Do your research and give them a offer. If you're ordering a car you can often get it cheaper than the ones on the lot.( cars on the lot usually have a bunch of useless addons imo) Stick with the price you give them, dont let them talk you into giving more.

Here's a link for my review. I should be the first one, if not my review was on 7/21/2013

Newb here. Had to jump in on this one as my 2013 STi 4 door is less than 3 weeks old. I shopped for about 3 weeks. I found the best deal was at Sunora Subaru. I work for autonation and base price for STi for employee was $33500 and WRX $23500. Sonora was asking $33900 with SPT exhaust, 6 speed short shifter and other bits with a $38, 800 sticker. I was definitely worth the drive from the bay.I just checked and they have a 2014 wrx in stock. Good luck!

Yes, I want a base hatch in white, with a boost gauge. If I have to order to get a good deal on one, I will. How does the negotiation go when ordering? I am assuming that the buyer must get some price in writing when ordering so they don't screw you when it arrives.

when you order you normally pay what they tell you. you have some room for dealer options (like the boost gauge) but they dont get a lot fee from subi so they wont really negotiate like buying off the lot.

My wrx we picked up at Santa Cruz Subaru. They did all the maintenance for the first 60,000 as they have a plan... you buy there the oil changes are free. And they took care of me for the first 100k as I had an extended warranty. They fought SOA on my behalf to get me taken care of on a large repair at the end of the 100k warranty. Under warranty I ended up getting... new deck, trans syncro repair, new ps pump, new water pump, new turbo and some odds and ends. Great experience. I'd go back in a heart beat.

My wife's forester we got at capitol. Why not santa cruz? Because we needed to buy a car THAT DAY. My wife's VW blew up and we had to get a car that day. We knew what we wanted and we got them and Stevens Creek in to a bidding war. When all you're looking for is a price it doesn't really matter. Buy at the place that will get you what you want for what you want. Capitol was within $100 of stevens creek and santa cruz didn't have anything on the lot. So we bought it there. All the labor has been done at santa cruz subaru as we bought a maintenance plan on the car.

I'd go to Santa Cruz Subaru if I was doing it all over again and just have them find me the car. I trust them. Our next car will probably be through them.

Helps that we're santa cruz locals so it's close for us.

Serramonte is doing an iclub deal so if you go in... talk to them about that. They're making an effort to work with the local community and that says a lot. They were a vendor at our event and they donated some huge prizes. Worth looking in to for sure.

Just cracked 1k on my Sti sedan from Capitol Subie. I searched all over for inventory. Wanted plasma pearl sedan Sti limited with short shift. Sunroof was a must so had to be a limited. I was ready to fly to Vegas to get one as they had some. Saw one pop up on Capitol's website, called and asked If inventory was accurate, gave them a stock number and they confirmed. Eugene, Jamie, and Ric worked a whole deal including beating the financing I already had in 2 hrs. This is the first new car i have ever purchased. They worked with me, gave me a little push back on my price, but then shook hands in 5 minutes. Eugene and Jamie are both Subie owners so they practice what they preach. I'm stoked to be part of the active and alive Subie community. I'll let you know about service later. Still have my daily driver WJ jeep with 242k running strong. Jeep community strong too but Laguna with a WJ is wrong.

strange, this is the opposite of what I've heard everywhere else, that when you order you have more leverage because any dealer can order the car you want.

if you order you should pay basically pay 500-1000 over what the dealer does. if you go to a scummy dealer they will work with you as they try to gouge you off the bat. if you buy from the lot you can pay almsot exactly what the dealer payed for the car or even less.

just find what KBB or NADA say it should cost, and work to that price.

NADA website is awesome! You can build your car even with all the accessories you want and it'll give you the Invoice Price and the MSRP Price. I'm sure that will give you a GREAT idea on how much you should be spending. Definitely worth checking out, thanks Zanzabar!

I got jacked around a bit trying to find a base WRX 2013. Cars were limited, so prices were waaay too high. Anyways, I emailed all the dealers in the Bay Area about a 2014 WRX base model, and Sam Levy at Carlsen Subaru in Redwood City gave me the best deal. I walked into the dealership, ordered a car and walked out with a VON(Vehicle Order Number).

$80 Document Fee
$29 DMV Filing Fee
$282 DMV Fees
$8.75 Tire Fee
$2,385.72 Tax (Belmont)

I guess tax depends on where you live.

Bought my '13 base WRX at Capitol last month. They were a couple hundred more expensive than Stevens Creek but I was treated much better at Capitol than I was at Stevens Creek. Girlfriend got her '12 Outback last year in Monterey and liked them but takes it to Santa Cruz for all maintenance as she likes their attitude over there.

Santa Cruz Subaru always treated me very well. Both purchase price and service. The guys there are also not slimy like other dealerships I have been to.

They are a small dealership, so their inventory is not always great. That being said, they will find a way to get the car you want.

I haven't used Santa Cruz but when I was online shopping for quotes they definitely provided great service over the Internet, I wish they had a car for me to buy

Look for Masood at Stevens Creek Subaru. Got a BRZ and Crosstrek there, awesome service, fast and no BS at all during purchasing and paper process. Good luck!

Got 32885 for a base sti 4 door at Livermore. Before tax and what not. After all fees 36128. 8.50 tax

This was a pre order 2014 and I received a Von before Wayne even took my refundable deposit lol. What a stand up guy. $300 was the deposit as well but never charged to my credit card.
