Default 2008 WRX TD04 Bigger Than Previous Years?

Is the 2008 WRX TD04 turbo any bigger than the 2002-2007 WRX TD04?

I read that it is a 19t.

2008-2009 is a TD04L-19T. I have a 2008 WRX and have confirmed that.

Yes, this year's (USDM, at least) are TD04L-13T, so the inducer is smaller.

TD04 part refers to turbine (exhaust) wheel size. You have different sizes as referenced by the letter that follows.

TD04
TD04H
TD04L
TD04HL
TD04HLA
(^a couple of those may be flipped around, but you get the idea.)

Then the inducer (or also called compressor, aka intake) wheel has different sizes.

13T
15T
19T

Its important to note, these are common USDM sizes. JDM spec, of course, got the better/bigger turbos. For example, I have a turbo sitting on my shelf from a JDM 2001 WRX and it's size is a TD04HL. Inducer, as far as I can tell, most likely is a 15T. So the turbine is bigger than my TD04L, but my inducer is bigger. My plan is, when my turbo goes, I'm going to swap the 19T inducer onto the HL and have some fun. Supposedly the TD04HL-15T is good for about 300whp (rumor has it) and some have compared it to the VF39. So, if that's true, then when I swap the 19T inducer on, I could potentially be looking at like 320whp...maybe.

Thanks for clearing that up for me.
