Talking Pacific Northwest Subaru Enthusiast Club

Ok... Del kicked my butt enough today to get me to talk to my boss... I asked him sheepishly: "I know you don't like personal websites, but, um, can I have some space for my Subie Club?" he was like "I love cars and people that love cars, No Charge."

So, I give you: www.nw-subaru-club.org

We can register some other names for it ($70 for two years), but that is the one that I registerd a while back.

So Alex!?!? Can we be an i-club chapter now? Pacific Northwest Subaru Enthusiast Club - PNWSEC

A

PS - The DNS servers have not all changed yet... give them a day or so for it to point to the right site...

Cool Deal.

I will kick your butt some more though ...

Does it have to be Pacific NorthWest? It sort of suggests Washington and Oregon only. Just speaking out for Idaho here, don't mean to step on anyone's toes. Afterall, Idaho is the only Landlocked state with a SeaPort. I guess PNW would be ok as long as Idaho's included.

-Del

P.S. tell your boss that he's a kool dude. We should get him a "trunk monkey"

Well, we (Miller and Jamie) just took over a charter from a few people that were not as interested in keeping it going. It's *official* name is the Pacific Northwest Subaru Enthusiast Club (miller, correct me if I am not 100% right), and by "Official" I mean that we are registered as a Non-profit organization in Washington (and Oregon?) and we have a checking account with that name also. So, unless we want to go through the hassle of changing those, that is what we are "stuck" with.

Don't worry, we will find a way to make it clear that you Potato People are welcome also.

BTW - I found out that the DNS entries will not filter out for another day or so... If you want to look at the "wicked" site that I have up for now, look at http://209.63.87.30/ that will be where the site lives...

It looks like the DNS servers have filtered around a little bit more... you should be able to get to www.nw-subaru-club.org

NOW: We need content. What do we all think?

Richard - Who "owns" the copyright for the pic that I stole off of Ownly's site? I like to give credit where credit is due.

Andy - "were not as interested in keeping it going" is rather inaccurate, please retract that.

I would have loved to have kept it going myself but I had no spare time on my hands. At least Miller has SOME time on his hands.

take the images and the data from the first West Coast Subaru Show and integrate it into your site... that was the first Club event held.

I am going to leave that site up until probabl;y 10pm on friday before I take it down. if you want anything from the old site, you have to take it before then.

BTW - the DNS filters have not come through far enough for me to be able to access the nw-subaru-club.org address just yet.

Ok . . . I'm cool with it. I looked at the original Membership application from the old web-site and it includes **Idaho** so my conclusion is that it is also in the charter or was considered in the initial club formation.

BTW in regard to your comment "Don't worry, we will find a way to make it clear that you Potato People are welcome also."

Idaho is the GEM state. Yes we are famous for potatoes and have the second largest potatoe dehydration plant in the world but I don't consider myself one of the elite Potatoe People. Kinda a funny story . . .last time I was in France, the first Frenchie I ran into recognized me as someone from Idaho and the first thing out of his Socialist mouth was "Hey...Idaho...Potatoes...hehe" I tell ya, Frenchies. Where do they get this stuff.

Have a Nice Day?

XT- Sorry about the confussion! All statements retracted! I was thinking as I typed that: "I should have 87-XT clear this up before I started talking out of my ass!" But I said what I thought I had heard... Sorry!

Del- The Potoato comment was *specifically* there to get a rise out of you, IT WORKED!

edit: I got a mirror of the old PNWSEC website downloaded... I'll set it up on our site here as the "old site"...

Yup . . you got a rise out of me. I think it has something to do with Potatoes. I can't be too sure about that though. I need to cut some starch out of my diet.

Andy,

Well as I took the picture, I assume I own the copyright

As you know I have more, also have lots of the pics that Jamie took.

So if you'd like more pics let me know

Cool looking site

So, is there like official membership us NWesters need to sign up for? If not, how about we go ahead and start a roster of local Subie owners. That could be a quick new page for the new site...

Andy - yeah, it's all there. Including the links to my email address... (oops! hehe)

Also, if anyone can get ahold of Miller (as I seem to be unable to), could you please have him give me a ring? I left my # on his answering machine.
