Default Where to get the best deal on a plane ticket?

Hey Guys. I am going to Vegas from March 15th-19th and I am looking for the best deal on a plane ticket. I will be leaving from Hartford and I don't really care about the times.

I have checked a few different sites and can't find a flight for less than $275. I thought flying to Vegas was super cheap?

Anybody got any ideas of where to look? I checked Expedia, Southwest, and Jet Blue(the don't fly out of hartford though)

Thanks,
Jason

Keep looking at all the sites.

Orbitz, expedia and the individual airline sites. We went on a vacation last summer to San Diego and I was on all these sites plus the supposedly discounted fares through work and we ended up with the best fare right on www.aa.com

I also found that hotels and rental car prices varied widely with sites. Got the hotel through work at $99 a night in SD and rental car for $129 for the week. I'm on the aa.com email list and they often have last minute fares to selected locations. Get on all of the airline programs and have them email you periodic offers. About every 2 weeks I get stuff that's like Boston to Dallas non stop for $89 but you have to book today and leave by the end of the week and be back within 2 weeks.

Or how about Priceline.com?

If you're willing to leave from Boston or NYC, JetBlue is going to be the best deal.

Boston is about 2 1/2 hours from my house. Its not really worth it. I am going to start looking more and more now.

Luckily the couple of friends I am going with go to vegas about 4 times a year. We are staying at Caesar's Palace all comped so I don't have to worry about hotel expenses. They are somewhat of high rollers so it should b e good time.

All I need to pay for is a plane ticket and spending money.

Yeah Jet blue seems to be the cheapest. It just doesn't make sense for me to fly out of NY or Boston. I would spend more money getting there and all that jazz than I would save on the flight.

Thanks again for the help.

you might want to check out hotwire.com I got a decent price out of bradley to denver. It is a discount ticket, so you don't know the exact times until after you purchase it and you aren't able to cancel it, etc. But it is very likely to be cheap. Good luck and tell us how it goes.

That's fine, if he doesn't care whether his bags make it there.

Check out http://www.mobissimo.com

It takes your flight info and returns results from Orbitz, Travelocity, Cheaptickets, etc. as well as a few airlines themselves so you don't have to go to each site individually.

It might not get you the best price, but it sure saves a bunch of time! It's my first stop.

Good luck...
