That's what I did but I ran flex pipe from its hole to my fog light. Don't kno if it help with power but my intake and intake manifold are A LOT cooler

Looks good Jourdan. Did you notice any differences vs stock when you made that? I probably wont attempt that but I may try and use the same location for some brake ducts lol.
Also Christmas came early

Not mine... I decided I don't need it since half my fender liner is missing.

And screw you for getting Koni inserts. I'm super jelly. One of these days I'll get a set.

I'm definitely going to try that Funnel routing.

But to me it seems like the air has to travel a longer path and would alternatively disrupt air flow as 2 sources come in at the same time. And all the bends and creases would slow down air travel compared to having it tied down to the fog light like some sti owners do.

Kartracer, the piece isn't 90degrees but I see what your saying.

Another route I was thinking of doing is cutting my OEM grille to match that of a jdm c-west grille where one side dips down for direct air travel kinda like the nose navy sesal was mentioning earlier.

The fog light spot def gets more air than the grill. Just need to fig out a way to plug the hole on the front of the air box

I got a replica of the oem one and I riveted the sides where it overlaps on the inside of the fender. If you decide to paint it, take your time and spend extra time prepping.
Jourdan- thanks, I spent a lot of time just getting the right price . I thought you were going to get a ground control kit this summer?

Well I did it. Think this is all I'm gonna do except get rid if the blue vac host and coupler gonna do those black prob. Oh and if anyone else has done the hybrid intake...for the liove of Pete..how did you do the stupid vac lines. Every where I've looked I can't see a decent pic or no one really explains it and the two threads about hybrids are dead now

Edit....ready for the flogging...what you guys think..

When I installed mine, I just pulled up to a really steep part off my yard where it drops off.. Put a blanket down on the grass and had plenty of room to work.

I did mine by myself, so I lined everything up and started by putting in one of the driver side screws while the rest of the lip was supported with a cardboard box. That would've been easier with a helper, but it was ok.

Remember to start the corner pieces of red tape cover plastic strips, so you can pull them out when you are done, so the double sided tape doesn't stick to early. Don't take the protective cover off the double sided tape untill you're sure everything is lined up perfectly.

It's really pretty easy, and doesn't take long at all.

Oh, and don't let the lip twist or bend before you install it or you'll crack the paint (if you got the Subaru pre-painted one)

And I think you re-use some of the screws from your car, and you get some new ones to use in existing holes under there. Just make sure you read directions and figure out where they all go before you start screwing them in.. or you might not get them all in the right place- or you might have to take them all out to re-adjust the lip where it goes on top or on the bottom of existing plastic pieces. You'll see what I mean once you start fitting it.

If you do it right it's amazing how perfectly it fits. Not even 0.10 mm gap anywhere.

okay, so my Intake system seems to work ALOT better. The car pulls through gears smoother IMO and faster.

If to lazy to read:
The Butt dyno approves.

If you want to read indepth:
After driving my car on local and expressways today, I've noticed a bigger gain in power. The temperature difference from yestarday and today, was that It was a bit warmer today than yestarday according to the in car dash guage. It recorded 70-73degrees today while driving. While there was not much of a difference in the low RPMs, (0-1500rpm), there was a noticable difference in the 1500rpm til shift point. The power felt more linear and felt like power was there especially at the higher end of the RPM guage.

1 Major difference I spoted was the engine bay temps. Before the Air intake system would be decently warmed up after a 10min drive. This was not the case. The intake inlet felt almost cold, id say 60-70 degrees, and didn't feel warm up untill the Torque box.

BWX, about the Engine bay temps. It seemed to me like there was no additional heat buildup to this mod.

Conclusion:
-More noticable power at the higher end of the RPMs.
-Colder Air for sure.
-Power feels more linear.

-Ill keep you guys posted.

Edit:
Ill take a drive today and use a temp gun and post pics.

BTW just wondering, is it safe to run 65w bulbs in replacement for the 55W OEM bulbs?

I guess I didn't do it right. One side of my holes do not line up and I have a slight .10mm gap on the corner by the tire. I've been trying to use a heat gun to try and adjust it a little bit, but I don't want to put too much pressure.

Ground control is just springs. I could run them with the OEM struts, but they won't last long.

So the way I did it...

Stock configuration, you have the torque box. Connected to the torque box is a short hose that bends up to a 90 degree T piece that also clips to the torque box. Then you have the white connector that clips to that.

I reused the small bent hose and the 90 degree T piece. That hose is wider than the others. I think it's 5/8 where the others are 1/2. I used a 5/8 to 3/8 and have 3/8 hose connecting to the intake.

Still using the plastic bits yeah.

Since I have my hose going under the intake and to the catch can, it's not much of an eye sore. But I can't think of a better way to do it without cutting the OEM hose.

You can kinda see it here. http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...g?t=1333676531

That sucks. I'd take it off before tape gets permanently stuck.. and then replace double sided tape with new tape from hardware store and try again. Or take it to someone like a body shop to have it done right.

edit.. First read through I thought you said 10mm..

0.10 mm gap? Just loosen all screws and try to adjust it maybe?

Didn't you see problem before you took the tape covering plastic strips off (the final step)? Or did you stick it on with tape uncovered?

If you arent running a catch can then you can actually run the hybrid without the plastic piece you are reffering too. If you remove the fuse within the white piece and put it into the connector then you can just have it off to the side. Here's a picture for reference:

Yes there is, its basically a dummy sensor. For example if that hose came off then the CEL would come in. I don't recall why Jourdan did it but it's more of a beauty piece. And pros/cons for removing the fuse? Doing the hybrid intake? Or the catch can?
