Default Water meth on supercharged 253

Iím thinking about doing aem or snow water meth on my 10 psi supercharged 253.

My biggest concern is figuring out a failsafe for the pump and injector. Could I get the bpv to open if there is a system failure and if so, would this eliminate boost completely (a 1Ē hole in my IC opening up....).

Any preferences between snow and aem? Aem seems to have a better reputation.

Canít figure out there to put the pump or tank off hand. My air water IC pump is right next to my windshield wiper tank which is an ideal and easy spot.

Any thoughts? Think we can do 250whp.

Cross pst from subaroutuback

Been doing a bit of research
AEM seems to have a decent reputation. Snow looks OK but AEM seems better.

The kit itself:
$400 shipped from AEM with various methods of controlling the injection.. MAF, MAP, injector duty etc.
30-3350 - AEM Water Injection Kit - SOHi Performance - Your best source for genuine automotive parts!

Filter $20 shipped

"Failsafe" gauge which measures your flow and you teach it what expected flow is at different MAF or MAP rates is, so it will trigger an alarm if the flow rate falls out of the expected range(either too much or too little). Can also take action based on this alarm, like trigger the CEL (not sure if my particular car has an ECU wire somewhere that can be grounded to trigger that actually) so in theory it could trigger the CEL which runs a different timing map with lots of base timing pulled or something along those lines.

$240 shipped
AEM Water/Methanol Failsafe Device UNIVERSAL - SOHi Performance - Your best source for genuine automotive parts!

I'd love to just throw it on but the failsafe stuff seems smart.

Hey, you again. lol

Props on the failsafe idea, if your going to be counting on a water/methanol setup to keep exhaust gas and combustion temps down so you can run more boost, your gonna wanna keep it working!

Let me know if you need help figuring out what sensors and wiring you'll need for the failsafe, sounds like you got it covered but I like to research and help when I can.

You know I have been talking to a friend, and with the intercooled water cooled supercharger the intake temps are not even that high. I could tune it on the meth for HP, but I might actually tune it OFF the meth, and just add a small amount of meth for additional cooling, just to keep it super simple.
