Friend of mine did...drove 5 hours from Northern Wi to check it out with cash in hand. Felt terrible for him because I was pushing him to buy it. Owner said it was the first time driving it out of storage, but I highly doubt that. What kind of guy lets someone drive that far without first making sure the car is running 100% as advertised? Inexcusable.

Now the seller just harassed the kid via text for me posting this. lol Classy... And just because you got a P0340 doesn't mean that's all the issue is, or that there weren't other codes that were pulled on top of it. This code does not commonly cause a misfire, nor does replacing it commonly fix your issue of a misfire.

I don't APPRECIATE some one who
1. Has no intentions of buying the car him self.
2. Didn't look at the car in person
3. Makes a lot of ASSUMPTIONS and Doesn't Put all the facts up in front so everybody can see it.

It seem all it it because He Encouraged his friend to buy a Subaru...So he figured well this is a nice car let me pass along the info to my friend so Mr.Chow and His friend can have Similar cars perhaps.

Well his friend came to look at the car
He likes the car
Is told this is a first time im driving it today since 3.5 months ago since it was put in storage for winter.

He drives the car proper with good boost and notices it has hesitation in the upper RPM range under full load (feels like misfire) I feel it to.
There is no check engine light
He was told, let me take a look at it and scan it to see if there are any pending codes.
He said he can't wait. But if I figure it out to let him know he might be interested if he did't buy a car yet.He was very hesitant he said since he Just purchased a VW Jetta GLI with modified engine and he found out the the Piston rings are Bad and the engine need a lot of work probably 4000-5500$ he said.
So it was clear he was Afraid to commit to a big purchase like this.
This is totally normal to feel this way.
I agreed and went to have it checked
P0340 code and P1131 code was pulled.

Car was fixed, it runs great and there are no codes.

After couple potential buyers reach out to me Via text that the car misfires .
I have text the One and ONLY person who looked at the car till now, and put few strong words in the text message.
Mainly stating Why is he spreading cancer about my car with out stating ALL THE FACTS and few other words.
He replay to my text that he didn't do that But he feels Cheated that he traveled 5 hours to check my car and Some others He mention just to find out my car is misfiring. He also text me a screen shot of the text messages he exchanged with MR.Chow so i can see that he just was texting his friend Mr.Chow. Not posting on the thread.
After i learned he didn't write in my for sale thread I WENT ahead and logged in and read the comments to FIND OUT MR.Chow (screen name) wrote coment
OUT OF CONTEXT WITH OUT TELLING WHOLE STORY

I immediately sent an APOLOGY Text message to the person who looked at the car stating IM SORRY for Calling you out since i didn't check the thread first.
I also sated in the text message that I Will Appreciate if He Contact MR.Chow and tell him whole story (if he didn't do so yet) so MR.Chow who wasn't there with you knows all the facts and doesn't act in anger that he sent his friend to look at the car he recommended to him and it turned out to be Not to His Liking and now is posting out of context and not the whole story.

If the person who looked at the car wants to personally put the text message on here I strongly recommend to do so....But since He didn't write any replays in my for sale thread, I WILL Not mention his name or text messages we have since maybe he wants it to stay anonymous .

Long story but there you have it for you Curiosity and Entertainment!

There was a cel...it was a misfire, you stated only one code to him (cam position sensor P0340) and you were very rude to him. Again you allowed him to make the trip without making sure they car was running 100% as described. If you want to sell this car now i suggest you create a youtube video going through the gears to prove what you say. I don't know this kid all that well, we met on fb discussing the ins/outs of the ej207 and wanted advice on what to look for when purchasing his first subaru.
Funny you should bring that up about his Jetta because apparently you gave him **** about buying a car with motor issues, and then tried to sell him a car with issues of its own. lol
I don't know you either, so I presented the fact and you can sort it out with anyone else who's interested. Nothing I've said is untrue.
