now does anyone know if the gears from a 240/260/280z R180 will fit in the 06 STI R180? are they interchangeable?

sorry, bump need to bump this to the top, someone mentioned in here how the old 270 r180 have a 25 spline axle, and someone asked if the wrx 25 spline axles fit and no one answered, can someone answer this question for me? and also do those r180s bolt into our subframes?? much thanks to anyone who can answer this

For what I understand from this, the r180 diff does fit Gc8 body but I have to have the axles for it? and the axles from the r160 wont fit the r180 thats a bummer...

I would also like that info about the 25 spline nissan diff and scoob stuff..

Sorry to bump a prehistoric thread, could a 04 STi drive shaft bolt up to a r160 diff? Also are the axles different between a r160 rear end to r180 or STi rear end? Thanks

You would need to swap the yoke flange on the r160 with one from a a R180. Or use a auto trans driveshaft as your second option.

Inner CV spline count and dimensions are different between the R180, and R160.
