i have always played off my driving becuz of my 5 speed wrx back in the day...running 12.7+ @ 115 with 2.0+ 60's

In the STi 12.0 @ 115 mph with 1.7 60's....not really horrible driving. In the STi my times have always been pretty good for my traps. I just couldnt drive the 5 speed to save my life.

12.0 @ 115 is better than 12.0 at 121 right

Nice Ron going all out! Are you going to finally put some E85 in the tank? Since your going all out don't forget the moonshine! You can drive Ron don't lie...

I wanna see some progress get back to the shop! Def put that drag wing on! What tranny you running a 6mt? Get some drag radials for sure too!

How much did those brakes cost you for all 4
corners? Do they mount right up or fabrication needed?

Cars got a 06 STi 6 speed in it....r160 rear...stock wrx axles

No e85....the car will be on race gas 100% of the time.

The brakes were $8xx....for the rotors, pads, and calipers....kenny drew, cut and mocked up the top hats and the caliper mounts and sent them off to get cnc'd....so im not sure on the total yet. So yes fabrication was needed for both the top hats and caliper mounts.

Those brake prices are cheap as chit. I spent $5xx on Hawk HPS pads, brembo blanks, SS lines and ATE fluid.

Kenny is the man! I'll have to stop by and check it out. Been meaning to stop in anyways. Good luck!!

Does that mean you'll be down here occasionally? Need/want to get road tuned when I sort out my misfire problem.

LMK if you need me to drive it to 13s.

Yeah, he's been killing it for a long time. I was stoked when I found out he was doing Subaru stuff. When I met him he was building pre-runners. His welds are second to none IMO. You planning on road racing it too I hope? Kinda assuming it's going to be drag only by the brakes, wing, etc... though.

Tubular front end?

With what you cut off, I would do a tubular front end, front mount the turbo in the grille area on one side, civic radiator on the other. Then an air to water intercooler behind the dash on the pass side with an ice tank in the trunk.

With all the free space up front it's kind of stupid to have a long run of pipe and the turbo behind the engine. Low mounted twins right off the heads would be cool too.

^ I like that, but if you are going this far and it's a drag car, might was well front mount the turbo(s) and do an air to water intercooler. It's not really any more work at that this point.

We talked about the front mount turbo a little last time. It's hard to tell which direction we will end up going. I mean we talked about 20 different motor setups several different times until he just made a decision for me

Part of the reason for duplicating the above kit is to get the jigs 100% set so he can produce the kit for customers.

If it's a drag only car, he may as well cement the block and run methanol and run no radiator.

Then park the turbo and AWIC where the radiator area.

True. But then you can't drive it on the street at all.

I'd like to see it as a fast street/strip car. You know the kind you trailer to the track, but could still take out for a drive once and a while. Maybe something that runs in the 9.5-10.5 range. You'd still need some sort of cooling system for that.

I agree I hope Ron built something that people can replicate, F filled blocks.

Here is another idea Ron, go with a carbon fiber roof while your are at it

The roof skin isn't really that heavy. But if you have the money go for it. It's not nearly as hard to get the roof skin off as people would have you believe.

the roof is thin and light already.....i dont think it would save much weight.....unless i chopped about 6" of the pillars off......then i would save a little weight and reduce the drag. we've discussed chopping it down a bit, but its probably not gonna happen....it just adds lots of little projects with all the windows and fabbing a new roof

Ron I'm building a rear diffuser for my GC now. I'm using alumilite. It's pretty easy to work with a pretty light. I picked up a 4'x 8' sheet at a local sign shop for around $100. If I have enought left over I'm gonna go a front lip spoiler.

also....i like v-band turbine housings vice t3 for ease of install and removal.....and the EFR doesnt have a v-band option...despite what aboothman might think, there are more things that people look at when picking a turbo besides whats hilighted in the EFR brochure....and wait time and ease of installation are 2 of my main decision factors.
